I've been prone to headaches almost my whole life (since first grade). They have varied in frequency and severity over the years.

For about a year now, I've been getting more and more 'headaches' that are focused on my left side only. I say 'headaches' because they encompass that side of my face, jaw, and ear, but also my shoulder, upper back, and arm.

I'm starting one right now. It begins at the base of my skull, and if this one is typical, it will spread and be terrible by tomorrow morning and I'll have it for several days. All I can do is increase my pain meds and wait. I use heat and try massaging my face and jaw and the back of my neck to try to relieve the pain; it doesn't work, but I get desperate.

Sometimes they seem to immediatly precede my period, but sometimes not.

Does anyone else have the same thing? I'm seeing a neurologist next week for sleep disorder and plan to bring it up.

Monkeyshines, you are describing my headaches perfectly. I just finished up one yesterday. I haven't had one in a few months and Iam doing some new Lyme treatment that I think brought it on. I can often get them when I am exposed to perfume or a chemical.

I think I found a great cure for it or at least for this one. Within minutes of taking Sinusalia by Boiron. Because I am so sensitive to meds, I have often turned to homeopathy and it works every time.

I looked up my symptoms and I thought I needed Belladonna but all the store had was the Sinusalia which has some Belladonna in it so I thought what the heck. Well, it worked! I also have been using a neti pot to keep the sinuses clear. Maybe it might help you. Good Luck

notkrazybrain, yes, it's like if you divided me in half, everything from my should blade up, back to front including my arm, hurts. So while I feel it more in my jaw, cheek, temple, and ear, it goes to the top of my head as well.

It also makes my symptoms on the left side somewhat worse all the way down to my heel, but it's not as severe below my shoulder/arm.

Wenan, how much Sinusalia do you take, and where do you get it?

Monkeyshines, It is interesting to me how my symptoms have been focused on my left side. Even abdominal surgery that I had 3 years ago can be inflammed on my left side - never my right.

With homeopathic rememdies I have always taken a dose every 1/2 hour until it starts to feel better. At that point I stop. If it begins to return, I take another dose, except for Bioplasma - if I am having a tough time(I especially can struggle with nausea-my doc thinks it is electrolytes) Iwill take it every 15 minutes - it also can help with headaches.

sometimes I think I am struggling with dehydration which causes the problems with my head and neck, even though I drink lots of water - the salts (bioplasma) and a new electrolyte formula I am taking I hope will help.

I get the Sinsula and Bioplasma at my local health food store. The Bioplasma is made by Hylands. Remember, I am no doctor, but I hope my struggles can help you in yours. Peace.
