My first appointment with my LLMD is next week, and I am trying to get some questions together now so that I don't forget when I am there.

My Western Blot had 3 positive bands, and I know that doesn't make a positive test, but that, along with my symptoms, makes me 99% sure that it is Lyme that I am dealing with.

Assuming she puts me on Antibiotics (I'm not familiar with the normal protocols), I was going to ask about the yeast infections, Candida Diet (I wouldn't be able to do it because of my allergies), and what can be done about side effects.

I also wanted to ask her that, since I have almost a wedding per week this summer, along with vacations that were planned last year, if I will still be able to attend or not. Is alcohol allowed while taking antibiotics?

I am trying to think of other questions that I can ask, but I could really use your help. If anyone can think of things I should ask her, or if anyone has answers to the questions I posted above, please let me know.

Thank you all so much!

Hi Robin,

Here are a few for starters. Good luck at your appointment.

What criteria do you use to diagnose lyme disease?

What treatment protocol do you recommend for me?

How many lyme patients have you treated, and with what degree of success?

Do you treat strictly with antibiotics, or do you offer herbal or other treatment?

What dietary guidelines should I follow?

If I have problems tolerating the treatment, what alternatives are available?

How long do you expect that the treatment will take before I am feeling improvements?

Will I be tested and treated for co-infections?

How do you recommend that I strengthen my immune system?

What can I do to detoxify?

I would also put on that list if he will look at how well your endocrine system is doing, adrenal, thyroid and all hormone levels.

Thank you so much for those questions! I wouldn't have thought to ask all of them.

How should I judge her answers, to decide if she is the right LLMD for me?

I don't know what answers are wrong or right. Although I do hope that she has a high level of success with her Lyme patients.

Robin,

I would think of everything you have been experiencing, whether you think they might or might not be symptoms. These infections have so many symptoms that you might not connect them with the illness. Even if it is things that have been diagnosed, tell her.

Also the disease creates a ton of health issues. When you find out what you need it want take long to straighten them out. This can be high blood pressure to dry ear canals with tons in between. Tell her anything that has caused problems for you or anything unusual that has happened in your life. Health wise that is.

I'll try and think of other stuff.

Praying for our recovery,

sherry

Robin, one thing my doc told me -- no alcohol. Something about it converting to sugar or somethig.

Others may know, but I avoid it like the plaque...

Don't know about beer......

Your allergies will be worse if you DON'T follow the anti-yeast diet.
