Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with pulsing artemisia, as Dr. K recommends.
My understanding is that he pulses 1200-1500 mg of artemisia 3 days and then again in two weeks and then again monthly. (For how long? One year?)
Has anyone done this? What experiences have people had?
On a recent teleconference cd, Nurse A from Dr. K's office states that they have had disappointing results with artemisia in general, but pulsing has been a good option.

In general, if a patient tests well with Autonomic Response Testing (ART) for artemesinin, Dr. K. prescribes 1200-1500 mg/day given 3 days in a row, repeated after a 2 week break.
After the initial 2 courses, a 2-3 day course should be given once/month.
Contraindication: early pregnancy.
He found that other treatments of Babesia disappointed and the above is the way the drug is used in China for treatment of Malaria.
No more symptoms - stop.
Most people do PC-Noni which addresses Babesia, Bartonella, Ehrlichiosis, the Herpes Family, and probably more. This is not the juice, but an extract of the total plant. my post - a couple three weeks ago gives more details.
A number of people I know did well with Riamet, a drug that was not available in the US. Not sure whether it is now. People did a couple courses (24 pills - Novartis/Switzerland) of it with several weeks in between.
Take care.
P.S. If he finds something that works better, he will use it if it tests well with ART. There is no hard and fast rule - not everybody needs the same thing and not everybody can tolerate what someone else tolerates.

We've found Neem oil to be a decent anti-protozoal as well. We use it in conjunction with ART but reduce the ART dose.
Zith, plaquenil and art worked well for us.

this is what nailed babesia for me. (after LL antimalarial treatment that helped allot, but did not get rid of it for me) i am two years plus symptom free.
i followed a different pulsing schedule, but with the same principal. you have to treat for "spores" and the liver stage, like malaria, but slower life cycle/growth in babesia. bpeck has printed lots of info on babesia behavior.

I did about 28 days of low-dose Artemisinin (300 mg/day), then found out about Dr. K and pulsing.
I just completed 3 days of 900 mg/day, and everything is good so far!
Watching symptoms to see if I'll need to do another pulse in 2 weeks.....
Glad to see the data on PC Noni, also.
Best,
