Hi all,
Just wanted to tell you how it's going since I relapsed and am now on the limited
Cowden Protocol which is a homeopathic remedy with no antibiotics.

I think a little better, and certainly no worse. I am on the second month, just beginning it. It's hard to say exactly since the results have not been very dramatic. I am noticing a little bit of an upward swing, so I am sticking with it. My two main stx are exhaustion and cognitive difficulties. I would say that on a good day I feel somewhat better, on a bad day (and there are fewer of these) I feel about the same as when I started.

Work is the main area of concern since I don't have any other means of support. Sometimes it takes a lot of extra focussing to figure something out that's pretty basic. I am not experiencing the kind of crippling exhaustion at work which made me have to lay my head down on my desk.

However, on Saturday A.M. I suddenly rememebered I had a party to go to that afternoon. This was quite a little surprise. For a minute or two, I couldn't remember whether or not I missed it entirely.

So, I continue on the regimin (sp?) and hope the people I want to understand what's going on do understand, and the people I want to hide this condition from, don't see anything (my employers).

I have been reallllllllllllllllllly busy at work, so I haven't been around much.

Miss you guys.

[kiss]

Thanks for the report on Cowden. I am also just beginning the limited Cowden (with Dr H).

BTW, it's a herbal protocol though (not homeopathic).

Can you tell us what the modified Cowden Protocol actually is, or post a link?
Thanks!

I've been doing Cowden (not modified) with Dr H for almost 4 months and have been doing great except for once a month with hormonal changes. Feeling better than I have in 2 years!

Lemonade,

That is EXCELLENT!

What treatment(s) had you been doing before that and were you partically recovered, or is this your first treatment? Are you doing antibiotics with it?

Having been on a modified Cowden for almost four years now, I want to warn you to shake the bottles until your teeth rattle before each time you use them. The active ingredients tend to settle, and the amount you are getting can suddenly be much higher at the bottom of each bottle, with disastrous consequences.

I shake the bottle of Samento as hard as I can for a full minute and it is still not enough. I forgot I was nearing the bottom of a bottle, and spent the last two days mostly in bed, panting from the pain of an unbearable herx. I was so nauseous I could not eat at all, and could only sip watered down apple juice. This was on the same dose I normally take with no ill effects.

Forewarned is forearmed! Good luck.

I am on day 80 or so of the full Cowden protocol. I was doing fairly well up till about 2 weeks ago. All of sudden I had symptoms flair up of Babs or Bart.
I think Babs saw LLMD and was given Malarone, Larium, Plaqeunil, and then add Artemisian.
Slowly, not all at once.

I was treated for Babs many moons ago with Mepron, Larium, Sulphur, never Art.

The symptoms are wildly different now, except for pain in the spleen which came back with a vengence. Stinging excrutiating transient pains, hands and feet swell up and tingle AGAIN, severe bone pain.

So I was told that the protocol could bring out symptoms of co-infections since they believe it might be tageting these bugs.

I beleive the limited cowden may be the Cumanda/Quina (look at the chart on Nutramedix.com website) Cumanda is switched to Quina around day 80 or so to avoid resistance.
Burbur for detox, and then the Samento.
This may be the limited shortened protocl since the above (minus the Burbur) are antimicrobials, although the Burbur may have some properties as well. I would also suggest for those with brain fog to get the Pinella, since that helped me quite a bit. It is supposed to clean the brain nerves. The Amantilla also helps me with relaxation.

Curious if anyone else had symptoms of co-infections pop out later in the protocol?

I keep testing neg for the past 2 years, but I know that means nothing since the tests are stinky poo poo.
