Hello all,

It is all I can do to type this but it won't be long winded.

All I want to know if there is anyone out there with pain the the hips. (just started) It feels like I am walking on nails.

If anyone knows what a roofing nail is, it feels like they are upside down all accross my feet and the sharp part facing the floor kinda like walking in heals.

I hurt in my knees, ankles and toe joints.

I am just so tired of it. I don't know how much longer I can hold on. I have been over 4 years with the same pain every single day.

If there is anyone out there that have these symptoms and had some hope, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

If so, maybe I have so hope. I am real close to just giving up.

Thanks so much,

Hi Firsttwin.

I'm so sorry. I've only briefly experienced the kind of pain you describe, on the bottom of one foot. OWWW! Can't imagine having it continuously.

I don't see enough information to try a stab at helping or offering an educated guess, though.

Are you currently treating? If so, what are you on, and how long for?

Have you treated co-infections? How recently, or are you currently treating them?

Have you ever been at a point of wellness in the past four years?

Do you regularly see an LLMD? If so, what does he think?

Have you tried a nerve med like Neurontin?

Sorry so many questions but to try and help, we need more info!!

[group hug]

Some of my pain was caused by food allergies - eggs were one.

I would get a gaussmeter though and check the electromagnetic fields in your home (and workplace, if you have one).

All of my symptoms are electromagnetic field exposure related, yet I can't find a single doc to even consider this possibility.

Get a gaussmeter (Trimeter) and prove it to yourself. There are some cheap ones on Amazon. You will never believe me unless you see it for yourself. I have higher than average electromagnetic fields in this home, and when the dewpoint rises, so do my symptoms. Water 'conducts'.

I have no idea if my magnetic fields are from a cell phone tower or just the electrical distribution lines in my own home - but magnetic fields are the problem in my own home.

Do you live close to a cell phone base station or does a neighbor have satellite TV? I found out my next-door neighbor had satellite TV for a few months there, when I'd been spiraling extra fast and my pain was excruciating.

Do you have inflammation with this pain?

If so, what worked best for me was a vegan diet. It only takes 2 weeks to know if this will help you. In 2 weeks time I had an estimated 50% improvement in my joint pain. Later food allergy tests revealed which foods to avoid which allowed me to eat more.

See www.drmcdougall.com. You can get all you need to know from his website for FREE. If you have any other questions, feel free to pm me or ask it here so others can benefit.

My current doctor who is ILADS LLMD says when you get this sick, it is never just one thing.

AMEN SISTER!

Diet was a huge factor for me and changing it made leaps and bounds improvement. A year of working on the above issues made me significantly better and my bloodwork for RA (my lyme progressed to RA) dropped from a very high moderate to a very low mild rate. The rheumy who believed in none of this including infectious causes to RA, was stunned at my improvement. I did so without the dangerous RA drugs.

Currently I feel cured and have felt this way for 2 mths. Dr assures me I am not cured yet.

Please experiment with diet. It costs nothing extra to try it.

Whoops. I deleted some of my post because I was getting too wordy.

The stuff I tested positive for one year ago was heavy metal toxicity, leaky gut, yeast and food allergies.

firsttwin,

Here are some resources on getting pain treatment from the American Pain Foundation. One publication is on finding doctors to help treat pain, and the other is different treatment options.

http://www.painfoundation.org/page.asp?file=Publications/Index.htm

The foot pain sounds like nerve pain. Neurontin and Lyrica are both medications that people on this board have found help relieve nerve pain. Narcotics don't usually help with nerve pain, but could help with your hip pain or other pain you have.

The hip pain could be muscle, tendon or joint. If it's muscle pain, Zanaflex is the medicine I've found gives me the most relief from muscle pain. If it's joint or tendon, then an anti-inflammatory may help.

With pain that intense, you really want to find a pain specialist who can help you navigate pain treatment. It sometimes takes going to a few to find one that is good.

I recently worked with a psychologist who specializes in treating pain coping techniques. I was surprised how helpful it was. In 5 sessions, he taught me meditation techniques to basically use your brain to pay less attention to the pain.

It sounds crazy and impossible. But you really can train your brain to feel the pain less.

My searing pain in the hips was directly related to low cortisol.

One of the symptoms of adrenal fatigue and low cortisol levels is "flank pain."

My natural cortisol was so low that I needed supplements. The pain went away with natural cortisol therapy.

I hope you get relief from your pain soon. I know its hard to deal with.
