I have always had eye problems with my lyme (such as eye infections, droopy eyelids, sight problems, feeling of cut glass in my eyes, floaters) but sometimes lately I have gobs of green mukus discharge from my eye's.
I don't have any other sinus issues.
It is mostly my left eye, which is the eye I have most trouble with from lyme.
Has anyone had this happen to them?
My eye doctor has never found anything wrong with my eyes.

Well at least mine isn't Green! [Razz]

Finally, someone else with this weird symptom. I've had it cultured, tried abx drops.

The amt of discharge seems to be related to my neuro symptoms. After an "event", there is more of the white stuff coming from my eyes.

I had copius amounts of this earlier when my symptoms were more present.

With best wishes, fellow finger-in-the-eye removing the goo sufferer,

CBL.

No, you are not the only ones. I am part of the club also, I feel special!

I also get it only in one eye, is the same side where I have a huge and painful lymph node under my armpit; I believed it was a consequence of the inflamed lymph node. Maybe not.

NO, I am sorry to say that you are not. I always have my fingers in my eyes removing the goo.

I have had to recently give up my contacts as it does feel like I have glass in them and Eye Doc says no infection but I may have seasonal allergies.

She also had me try some new contact cleaner that uses a peroxide base - And that really didn't help - only for a few hours - then had to once again remove my contacts.

[Eek!]

I have the white goo too and yes it is embarrasing! It's good to know though that this might be some form of detox.

The glass feeling in the eyes is "dry eye". I was told be a LLMD opthalmologist it's from the cranial nerve swelling and your eye not producing enough water (I think Lymies blink less too).

Yes, since I've been ill the eyes have been extremely goopy - yet extremely dry as well. Left eye worse than right. I don't believe there is any other reason than my Lyme - whether the causative mechanism is understood yet or not - I was fine before this.

Bringing this back up.

My daughter has had extremely dry eyes for the past couple of years.

Then, she developed a problem that when she did cry, it felt like acid burning her eyes.

After doing a ten day juice fast, she has started releasing this white goo from her tear ducts.

Could it be yeast? Or, is it toxins?

It can also be an opportunistic infection.

My LLMD swabbed it, thinking it was most probably an autoimmune development.

To his surprise it was a strange bacteria, "acinetobactor", I think is the spelling.

You can get it from using other antibiotics. It wasn't susceptible to Levaquin, which I had been taking for Bartonella treatment, but it was susceptible to Cipro, in the same family of ABX.

I had had the goopy/itchy/mucusy eyes, one eye was worse than the other, for months, and sometimes with uncontrollable tearing. Was it all due to this infection? I don't think so, although my eyes sure felt better after using the drops.

One thing that I tried on my own that seemed to help was to wipe my eyes--very tightly closed--with vinegar water. A little vinegar got through to my eyes, which stung like crazy. But it made the goop go away.

I did this when I started to get the symptoms back while I was using Rocephin.

In the Fall, I start having goop come from everywhere...... Eyes included. Didn't do this prior to Lyme Disease.

I have knocked down LD by rifing but know I am dealing with Babs and Bart.

It's a mystery!
