Some mycoplasma infections present almost identically to Lyme, and can be transmitted by the same ticks (as well as person to person, apparently.)
Treatment for mycoplasma is similar to that for Lyme, but only certain antibiotics work: doxy, zith, biaxin, others. This, too, requires long term treatment from what I understand.
Many of us have mycoplasma along with TBDs -- I did.

Adam, Your from WI too. I got Myco from the tic here in WI.
I ran into the same thing. I had a cold that would not go away and developed into pnenomia in my left lung. We cleared the infiltrate from the lung but I never really recovered. The same doc you see, ran myco lab tests and my levels were off the charts for myco.

Well, each of us only had our respiratory symptoms for a week, and
my parents never went on to develop any other symptoms.
Might these perhaps be signs that it was a legit cold?
