I have just started getting red spots on the palm of my hands which itch. It lasts several hours and then goes away.

This was one of my first symptoms almost 10 years ago. Does it sound like bartonella?

I am presently on no antibiotics so it cant be a side effect of a drug. Thanks.

Have you been tested for RMSF?

My GP in NY says he has seen an increase in this TBD.

If that stands for Rocky Mountain Spotted fever the answer is no but I thought you had to have fevers to be sick with this disease.

I will look further into this. Thanks!

I tested positive for RMSF twice about a year and a half ago but never had a fever with it, nor a rash at that time. I had a rash for the first time just a couple of weeks ago EXACTLY like the one you describe! I thought it was RMSF but my LLMD said Lyme rashes can also present on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. Get tested for co-infections and have your doctor look at it ASAP- it can also be a sign of an allergy.

Hope that helps!

Ehrlichiosis can also cause a rash like that on hands... feet and up the limbs.

Doxy is the drug of choice for Ehrlichiosis, RMSF and is good for Lyme is many people.
