I do take b-12 injections (methyl b-12 to be exact). Now I certainly have not been good at taking them on a regular basis.

i was wondering, can someone actually take in too much b-12?? I want to increase my injections this week to see if it helps with the skin burning pain at all.

Thanks

Nancy

I do not believe that you can be hurt from taking too much b12. That is my own opinion though.

My family doctor told me NOT to take them because my levels are normal. Another doctor, who is a friend, wrote me a script for them. I just started doing it.

From what I understand B12 is water soluble so whatever you body doesn't need it gets rid of it.

I am supposed to take one shot a week. I did notice an increase in energy but it only last 2 days.

Hi Nancy,
I have done Methyl b12 for 2 years. I have taken as much as 30mg (yes mg) per week, which is NOTHING compared to what Burrascano recommends, 25mg per day.

There is no evidence you can take too much b12.

Levels can appear normal in blood testing, but I have heard that doesn't mean you are absorbing it correctly as through injection.

My levels right now are 1000 above "normal" and it actually helps my red blood cells stay in the normal range on blood testing. So (2) LLMD's told me to continue.
