For those who take/have taken Florinef - how long did it take to achieve an increase in BP? Or was the effect immediate for some?
Has anyone been prescribed both Florinef and Cortef at the same time?
Has anyone taken Biaxin while on either of these 2 meds?
Thanks in advance for replies! Posts: 261 | From Herx-ville!! | Registered: Aug 2006

I have been taking Florinef for over 6 years now, along with midodrine and a beta blocker. For me it was the combo of the three that really made the difference.
I did start with Florinef and I don't recall how long it took to notice improvement, but it seems like it was not a very long time. Of course I started with a quarter of a pill, then half, and so on.
I have been on Biaxin for about a year now, so yes, you can take them together.
I took Cortef for quite a while. I have been off it for maybe a year now. My LLMD is ready to test me again for my cortisol levels, since they were still low last time we checked.
Finally, I was on both Cortef and Florinef at the same time for quite a while, well over a year.

I started Florinef a week ago - started on half tab first 2 days, then half AM and PM and now am trying full tab AM....taking nearly a gallon of water daily, tsp salt with breakfast, lunch and dinner and potassium, but still no real increase in BP!!! But am hoping it will kick in soon. I will add low dose Inderal next to help POTS....and maybe the Cortef will also help BP as well as other adrenal issues when add it in few days.
Lymednva - do you use the Midodrine continuously with the Florinef and beta blocker? What dose of Florinef worked for you and Geneal?
Any other tips to help it kick - in?

Yes, I use Florinef once daily, in the morning, midodrine 2-3 times a day, and Inderal LA every evening.
I believe my Florinef dosage is 0.1 mg.
