I apologize if this a a re-post. I thought I posted it but can't find it?
My 6 yr old daughter is currently taking 1600mg IV ceftriaxone once daily. Her stomach is really hurting her. I was advised to give her yogurt once daily which I have but she is still miserable. Does anyone here have any tips..like eating before? or certain foods or anthing else that might help her with this?
Thanks Rose

You have to eat alot of protein before IV abx, pref. meats... I learned the hard way starting out on IV's
Will also need some probiotics and a low to no sugar diet.

Hope you're giving her probiotics throughout the day.
I'm on the IV Tigecycline and can bear it since taking probiotics every time I go in kitchen.
I nibbled on pretzels or crackers too if I got nausaus.
Hope she feels better.

Besides probiotics, my LLMD had me take Xyzal 5 mg plus Pepcid 40 mg one hour prior to IV infusion. For once, I have no ill effects and am tolerating treatment.

I forgot to add that a low carb diet consisting of 20 or lower carbs a day is a must for me. It takes a balancing act, but sugar in any form, causes my symptoms to multiply times xxxxx. Has anyone found a tasty low carb bread? Presently I am eating low carb tortillas and Joseph flatbreads. Would appreciate any input. Hope your youngster feels better, soon.

Trader Joe's makes an excellent "Ginger Beer" that has ginger, lemon and lime juice and other fruit juices.
It works well when I have a bad tummy. Of course Ginger tea works well, too.
