Can you take pool therapy if you have a port?
Do you have to get in the water over your breastbone?
Do you exercise in the water?

Good morning,
Hope you were able to get that port back in place ok?
Yes, it is fine to get in the pool with a port as long as it is NOT being accessed. (your skin will heal over completely, therefore it is no longer suseptible to infection)
Therapy should be a great thing for you too. Just begin slowly to make certain that you have full range of motion w/out strain to the port.

Hi Melanie,
The port is still sitting an a bone/nerve and causing pain.
It was x-rayed and determined to be in place, but it doesn't feel right...more pain than should be.
The port is only deaccessed 2 days a week.
