I could have sworn someone told me to put the whole lemon in a blender because the rind is good for you or something. And to use olive oil too.
Can someone verify this for me, if it is true, can you tell me the ratios to use? I would like to make a pitcher of this to use through out the week. I'd like to know how much lemon/olive oil to use per cup or gallon/half gallon/quart - whatever. Would making a bunch a few days ahead of time compromise any good that I would be getting from it? How many times a day...is there TOO many times a day?
Thanks for any help. I'm really wanting to detox this body off mine. My lymph nodes are swollen, I sweat all of the time, I just feel like my whole system needs to get things moving on out.

I have used the lemon/olive oil drink for several years to amazing effect.
I take 3 whole organic lemons and chop them up with the rind on. I put them in a blender with about 6 or 7 tablespoons of cold-pressed olive oil (maybe even more), then I add 3 or 4 cups of water and some pure maple syrup (a teaspoon or two) and puree.
If I have a serious herx I drink about it all in about 6 hours. It relieves a herx almost every time for me - taking anywhere from 4 to 10 hours to do so. I will also drink it if I feel a herx coming on and it can help prevent one.

I drink Lemon water every day (or try to anyways) usually at least twice a day but I strive for 3 or 4 8 oz glasses a day. It is a LOT easier to get more water into me that way, and I love the taste of it.
I buy True Lemon... it is crystalized Lemon and is 100% natural. (I was using real lemons.. but my blender sucks so I was just hand squeezing every day... bah)
The True Lemon ingredients are Citric Acid, Lactose, Lemon Juice, Lemon Oil, Maltodextrin, Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C)
Anyways, I do a daily Tbs of olive oil but I don't always put it IN my water (I don't really like the feel of drinking oily water) I just take a spoonful of oil in the middle of drinking my lemon water.
Olive oil is very beneficial in a LOT of ways. It has vitamin E which is an antioxidant, it lowers bad cholesterol, lowers cardiovascular risk, it's a good moisturizer etc.
I've learned that 1 tsp. mixed with lemon water on an empty stomach in the morning helps with constipation.
But I can't forget that 1 Tbs has 120 calories and 14 grams of fat... which is why I only use 1 TBS a day

I've done the lemon water or even doing the straight fresh squeezed lemon through a straw during herxes and wasn't seeing that it did anything other than distract me for a few moments from the sour.
But hearing I should be mixing the olive oil with it, I've seen that mentioned before. If you are making us one glass, what is the ratio used lemon to olive oil to water for the best results?

Recipe: 1 washed whole lemon, cut up and seeded 1 cup water, and 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Grind in blender and then use a strainer to get just the liquid. Drink from a glass with a straw.
The olive oil helps cut into the sour taste.

CherylSue,
Yes, that is the recipe I thought I had remembered from memory. So out of desperationn I tried it tonight. Been going through some wild ride.
I got it all right, but forgot the strainer part, so my drink was lumpy and even had a blended up seed in it, but you know, I've been so sick, I drank it down chunks and all.
Would have to try it a few more times to know for sure how I think it works, but it's definitely healthy, so I will continue to use this recipe and maybe next time will remember to strain it. Hahahahahaha.
Thanks for posting this and with so much lyme fog, I'm surprised I remembered as much as I did.
