I was surprised to get an IgG reaction on my Igenex WB, because I didn't pull one from Labcorp. I had band 31++ with confirmation test confirming exposure to BB and not cross reacting with a virus.

I had 31++ on the IgG side only. I try to block the fact out of my mind that I could have had this longer than when I think I got bit because I have a 2 year old and that would probably mean that I had this before I had him. [Frown]

For those that have IgG reactions or even double positive reactions on their IgG tests, do you know when you got infected? If so, how long ago was that?

I was trying to recall the last time I got sick. The last time I got sick with an actual fever was when I was in Basic Training in the Air Force. We spent days out in a tent with no showers for about 3 days. I remember getting so sick with a high fever...I actually failed my 3 mile run.

I do remember being very tired ever since but no pain whatsoever. I could have been tired before that but I think I remember being so tired since then because being in the military makes you have so many demands on your time that it makes it easy for me to remember noticing being tired....if that makes any sense.

On the other hand, so many people were sick in Basic Training, probably because of SOOOO many people being there in close quarters, it could have been a germ going around too.

For one reason or another, since getting "sick" in Basic Training, I have had a life filled with unimaginable stress and drama. Mom had heart surgery, neck surgery, my brother came down with Schizophrenia, other brother went to Iraq twice, HORRIBLE marriage problems, pregnancy, the list goes on. You would think that all of those issues in 3 years time would cause such a stressful environment that Lyme would come out if I had it all of that time...but maybe not.

I know that the WB isn't a surefire indicator of how long you've had it but seeing the ++ on the IgG side makes me wonder if I've been infected for longer than 10 months.

My son is so healthy, advanced, and smart. He is so active and doesn't even get sick hardly at all, unless my 6 year old brings something home from school.

I do not want to have him tested unless I have reason to. In this case, if he's healthy then ignorance is bliss at this point. My heart would CRUMBLE if his test came back positive. Now, if he was showing signs then I would definitely have him tested and then treat accordingly...but if he's healthy then I don't want to go down that road ATM.

What did your tests show versus how long you've been or think you've been infected?

HI Nessa

My WB was ONLY IgG positive... I only had one IND band on IgM.

I also have 31++ on IgG ... I have 5 positive bands and 2 IND's on my IgG... I may have had this for many years.. but didnt get sick unitl my last trimester of pregnancy and right after her birth...

I have been very ill and struggling since her birth, being bedridden for 11 months and now homebound, only bedridden some days.

Thats just my case though, everyone is different. You many have had it longer than 10months... we'll never know

Be well!

Because of how long I've had symptoms and the extent of my neurological problems, and the first tick bite that I recall (in elementary school..tick embedded for two days) my LLMD is positive that I've had Lyme for 20 years.

But I know for a fact I've had it since 2003 when I got bit and got an EM rash around the bite(didn't realize it at the time that it was an EM rash) and not long after got very very sick, then developed worse heart issues.

Nessa,

I had a lab-corp WB and an Igenex WB done within 48 hours of each other.

lab-corp showed not a single IgM positive, but all the IgG bands were positive.

Igenex WB came back with a TON of positive bands, almost every single one of them, both in IgM and IgG.

That in itself shows a huge difference between the different labs.

How long I've had it...don't have the slightest clue. Felt a little weird in 2003, but other than that, nothing until my knees started swelling in January of this year.

STILL waiting to get in to see an LLMD that will do antibiotic treatments. Found one that wants to do Cowden, but I don't want that.
