i never had this problem with roephin until recently i get a burning pain with the infusions (i'm infusing with a chest port). has anyone else had this problem? i also get tingling throughout my body only with the infusions. it is the pain that is bothersome. i have no idea what it is but i can't infuse this stuff anymore.

burning pain/tingling were never symptoms i had ever before.

thanks for any input.

Whatever company is doing your infusion, you should call immediately and report this change. The company we use has a 24 hour line for problems, and a nurse will call you back.
Also, it's important to call your Dr. and let them know what is going on. If you've been on Rocephin before, it's my understanding you can develop problems with it later on. Saying a prayer. =)

Is this a new supply that perhaps was not mixed properly or kept refrigerated?

thanks for replying. my doctor does know about the burning pain and suggested i mix the medication in a 250 ml saline bag instead of a 100 ml saline bag to see if that would help but it did not. he hasn't heard of this type of reaction to rocephin before.

i am afraid i have developed an adverse reaction.

i can't say it is the batch of medication because it has happened with two different batches.

i have no pain with any other infusions (doxycycline is fine).

i have been on rocephin before. the problem is i had to go on and off it several times because of problems with my chest port and picc lines. so it's possible now i've developed a weird reaction to the rocephin.

i dunno.

i am doing the infusions myself.

I had this all over my body in the beginning of my Rocephin treatment. It has gone away since then. I didn't know if I was having a bad reaction or if it was a herx...considering my nerves are already fried, I thought it just lit my symptoms I had already on fire and that was part of a herx! I waited it out and I don't have it any more.
