I always hear a lot of people talking about other things that can make us sick like mold, adrenal issues, heavy metals, hormones, vitamin deficiencies, etc.

I don't quite get how you have Lyme but aren't getting better with some people say to check for all of these various things. The reason why I don't "get" it is because I was healthy, happy, energetic until I got bit and got Lyme. I would think that I would have been tired and sick BEFORE Lyme due to been exposed to mold, heavy metals, etc.

Does Lyme bring out symptoms from being previously exposed to these things or something? And besides fatigue, what WOULD be the symptoms of these things? Do they cause PAIN? I always thought of it being more of a "sick" feeling: Fatigue, minor body aches, maybe breathing issues or something?

Can someone fill me in on this? Pardon my ignorance, if it is so.

I will escape.

I agree with you, why are these issues now and not before? It could be because our immune systems are compromised now, and can't deal with all the issues on top of the Lyme. I've had my LLMD explain the connection between the problems that I do have -- thyroid, adrenals, low body temp, lead, viruses I didn't know I had before -- but I don't totally get it.

I do know that two of the reasons I can't get better are not enough sleep and stress.

I've also been puzzled that I've had 3 friends who have been very sick from Lyme, took one kind of abx for a couple of months, and are all better. No lifestyle changes, no probiotics, no supplements, no change in diet, no heavy metal testing, nothing. Another friend had a Lyme rash, ignored it for a couple of months, had a headache for a little while, took low doses of abx for a few months, and is better, again no lifestyle changes, nothing. (However she is about to have a baby and I fear that it will have congenital Lyme, will be interesting to see.)

And here I am kicking my *** trying to get better by doing everything right, and I can't. One difference between me and the people who got better is that they only had Lyme, not co-infections like me. I guess that also puts more of a strain on the immune system.

I know I didn't answer your questions but I just wanted you to know that I think about those things too. I hope I made sense, I'm wicked tired right now. :-)
