Are there any supplements or herbs that can actually treat viral infections? They keep saying my dizziness is being caused by a viral infection other than lyme but that the virus is also making the lyme flare up (is that making sense?)

So what can I take to treat viruses?? Im so sick of this.

Nancy

Nancy~
I have chronic viral infections...and have used both valcyte and acyclovir to treat them. They have both helped.

You need to determine if your viral infection is acute or chronic. Have you been tested for HHV-6, EBV, enterovirus?

Best, Timaca

VIVI from Systemic Formulas is great and I believe Viro-Ex from Inno-Vita is also great.

I believe the sites are:
www.systemicformulas.com
www.inno-vita.com

You would have to contact them and find practitioners near you that carry them.

My kids and I have had excellent results with them.

Upping Vitamin A. Organic freeze-dried Garlic from Biopureus or Bioimmersion (need a doctor to get it) That took care of all my viral infections. I had super high Epstein Barr, Cytomegaly as well as others.

Take care.

P.S. Now I use the Bionic880 for people who have a viral problem. Most people with Lyme do. Viruses are very easy to treat that way and you swallow nothing. You just make sure you have enough binding agents on board to catch the neurotoxins, etc.

seekhelp,

Any idea what dosage of olive leaf extract would be effective as an antiviral?

Dosage of olive leaf 2 500mg 3 x day recommended by my LLMD. Seagate is best brand.

Timica,

Have you tried valtrex or know about it? My LLMD wanted me on it but with all the abx I'm worried it might make me really sick so I've put it off. I did take acyclovir for a while and noticed it helped but this was before abx. This all started for me with ebv. Should I take it if my IGg levels are high?

Thanks
mandy

Mandy~ I have taken valcyte, and I am now on acyclovir (the active ingredient in valtrex). The doctor treating me preferred me to be on acyclovir while I was on doxy, rather than on valtrex. I guess valtrex and doxy are both processed in the liver, and he did not want to overtax my liver.

Best, Timaca

My LLMD recommends I use Lauricidin pellets. Gives me a bit of a herx, though.

Homeopathic series remedies can be good for viruses. Deseret Biologicals has several. They can also be used with Bionic 880 as GiGi said, or also probably with Lightworks.

Goldenseal 2-3 capsules twice a day for a few days. I also use olive leaf with it . Both have solid scientific documentation.

Also another good option is andrographis, but take one or two capsules twice a day . It is powerful and also kills lyme , and I have had the absolute worse herxes ever .

Another great option , is 1,000 mg VIT C
( can be buffered C ) two to three times with an infection thru the day . These really work .

Another thing that helps me blast a cold or flu or infection, is adding beta glucan once or twice a day to the herbs and VIT C . I can get over an infection FAST , but lyme is another story !
