Has anyone heard of taking this much - 1200mg/day. I take it M, W, F. My doctor gave me this instruction along with some others today. It seems rather high. The insert says not to take more the 600mg/day.

I just sent him an e-mail to confirm a this is what he meant.

Thanks,
Kathy

I take 600 mg./day. This is the second time I've been on Omnicef long-term, and I've never been told to take more than that. On the other hand, I'm very sensitive and have to keep medications on the conservative side.

My guess is that it's higher since you aren't taking it daily. I'm on higher dose of zith than I was when not pulsing.

I have been 1200mg a day but had GI issues and got Cdiff. I have since then dropped to 600mg a day and am tolerating it better.

I asked the LLMD. He says it is really high, but I am only taking i M, W, F so it should be okay. Not sure what he is up to exactly, but I have to trust him as it is my only hope right now of getting better and holding on to what I have left in my life.
