I have been doing very well lately. Feeling about 85%. I have been treating lyme for almost a year now, and babesia for about 8 months.
With babs, I have treated with Lariam, mepron and zith, and then malarone. A few months ago, I switched to malarone after a few months of mepron/zith because my symptoms were disappearing. For the last two months, I have been symptom free of babs.
For the past three months I have been treating Bart with levaquin along with my lyme/babs treatment. I saw my LLMD this past Tuesday, and we decided I should stop treating babs since I havent had any symptoms in two months and focus on Bart/lyme treatment.
This week has been quite crazy with stress/excitement. On Friday, my brother in law graduated from college and we had to wake up exceptionally early to make it to his graduation on time. We went out to eat later, and I decided to have an alcoholic beverage since I had been feeling so well. I ended up with a migraine later on in the evening.
The next day was my graduation. During my graduation I started sweating and feeling like I was going to pass out. I didn't think to much about it because I get like that anytime adrenaline kicks in (like when I am getting ready to board a plane!!). It went away and I felt ok for the rest of the day.
Later that night, I decided to stay up late and have a few beers to celebrate. Unfortunately, I woke up today feeling like crap with a headache. All this afternoon I have felt lightheaded/woozy and clammy. All my other symptoms are exaggerated today as well such as the numbness in my legs/face, weakness in arms, dizziness.
Of course, now I am scared! Is this the result of partying, lack of sleep, and pretending to be normal, or can babs be relapsing after 4 days???
I have to admit, this is a hard day for me. I don't want to panic yet, but my anxiety is reaching new heights. Posts: 146 | From California | Registered: May 2008

From what you have described, it sounds like you may have over done it last week.
Even if i'm having fun and feeling good at the time, if I push myself too hard I will pay for it and feel really run down for the next couple days. Along with the fatigue and flue like feeling I also have an increase in all my symptoms (or even a return in those I thought were gone).
Take a break for a couple days if you can. Treat your body well. Drink lots of water, eat well, rest. See how you feel next week. If you are still having symptoms that you associate with Babesia then give your doc a call.

Congratulations on your graduation:)
I'm sure the last thing you want to do right now is rest! Think of it this way, you worked so hard to earn your degree, you deserve a break.

Thanks Sammy! I feel like I have overdone it, but it scares me that I recently stopped treatment for babs. Hopefully things will return to "normal!"
Thanks for the congratulations!! It feels good to be done with school.

Alcohol + meds + fatigue. It kills me, even a small amount, every time.
