This suspected new infection. . what is the likelihood that it was caused by the recently started abx treatment? Does/has anyone had EM rashes appear and disappear with treatment?

hi peacemama, This is not an uncommon occurance, rather a sign that the tx is affecting the Lyme; toxins trying to leave the site and lots of other things. Unless accompanied by high fever or other very severe sx's, nothing to worry about, at this point. ping "We are more than containers for Lyme" -------------------- ping "We are more than containers for Lyme"

I've read many instances, here, in medical literature, and in Lyme books, about Lyme rash occuring after beginning treatment. They can show up anywhere on the body, too. Also, not every Lyme rash is a bullseye. If you haven't already, please take good clear photos of the rash, with some form of proving the date and who the rash is on, all in the same picture. This can be very valuable in the future if you ever need to prove this child has had Lyme, since it is diagnostic on its own. --------------------Dr. C's Western Blot Explanation Lymenet Success Stories ILADS Treatment Guidelines Medical & Scientific Literature on Lyme "Long-Term Antibiotic Therapy Improves Persistent Symptoms Associated with Lyme Disease"

Thanks. LLMD took photos today. I'll take more tomorrow. It just keeps getting more red. This is the same general area that he has had a rash on before. Not a bullseye. I never had a bullseye. I had NO idea they could be so clear. Like I was shopping at Target.
