How long have people been on Avelox for? and how are you doing now?

I have been on Avelox 500mg/day for 60 days so far. (in addition to Plaquenil and Tetra) I have been treated for 5 months total, the first 3 with other meds. I have seen quite a bit of improvement while on Avelox but am a tad worried about potential long-term damage. Any thoughts or experiences?

Thanks!! darn ticks

The fluoroquinolones are known for causing tendon damage in some people. Avelox, in this group of antibiotics, did in my achilles tendons. But it doesn't happen to everyone and may be dose related.

I was prescribed it. I think it was for Babesiosis, though, not Lyme.

I was only on it for one month, over two years ago and truly can't remember whether it helped or not.
