My question is: how did your llmd proceed with your treatment based on this result?

Were you treated for bartonella,or mycoplasma?

Thank you so much for your help!

Bart with Rifampin.

Also on Mino, Zith and Mepron.

There's a post on here where I included a pic of my results. Though Fry said it was Bart/Myco, many people said it looked like Babs. It also fits LymeMD's description of Babs.

My Fry labs looked much better after a month of IV doxy, then my doc switched me to levaquin and it got worse and worse...

Mine said hemobart or mycoplasma as well.... I do have antibodies to mycoplasma but havn't tested positive to bartonella antibodies...

JJ,

My LLMD confirmed his original diagnosis of Bartonella again yesterday at my appointment. I gather he is basing this conclusion primarily on my skin issues, afternoon and evening anxiety and stabbing sensations.

We never discussed the possibility of it being mycoplasma in my case despite a possible indication of such on my Fry report. I am satisfied with his diagnosis in part b/c I have Dr. Schaller's Bartonella books and my skin looks like several of the pictures in his book.

I am Dynacin (minocycline), Zithromax and I start Bactrim today.

Thank you all for your responses.

Can anyone tell me what symptoms distinguish bartonella from mycoplasma?

The reason I ask is that at the time my Fry lab work was done my symptoms were:
iron a few points below lab reference range, alternating light sweaty/clammy sensation and mildly chilly, fatigue, weakness, malaise, warm tingly flushing sensation from the chest up each morning upon waking, leg muscle cramps at times, mental fog, dull headache, itchy skin at times.
Do these sound like bart or mycoplasma symptoms?

Thanks for you help!

As silly as this sounds, I never even thought of that.

Do the same abx work for both co-infections? Hopefully, the answer is yes.

Good question Leelee! Can anyone answer whether the same abx will handle both bart and mycoplasma?

Lou, do you know where I can find information about mycoplasma and it's symptoms?

Thank you both!

JJ29,

Google Garth Nicholson for information on Mycoplasma.

Bartonella and Haemobartonella are 2 different things. Was your test positive for Bartonella or suggestive of Haemobartonella/Mycoplasma?

The abx would be different for Bartonella and similar for Haemobartonella/Mycoplasma

Thanks Marsy for your post. I will google Garth Nicholson.

My lab stated "suggestive of hemobartonella or mycoplasma".

Marsy, I had no idea that bartonella and hemobartonella were two different things! Do you know where I can read more about hemobartonella?

Thanks
JJ
