sorry, I guess this wasn't the same post as your biaxin one.

I'm taking it with Septra DS right now, and trying it in the middle of a course of Flagyl.

I pleaded with my LLMD to get a super aggressive combo- he originally wanted to give me Septra/Rifampin alone, but I've been feeling like we haven't tried any super aggressive combos yet in all the things I've been on, so I asked him for a combo that departs from what he normally prescribes- more different types of antibiotics, all at once.

He then OK'ed septra/rifampin/bicillin. I THINK he said that trying flagyl with this combo is OK (I've got a standing order for liver enzymes testing and will be doing a lot of testing).

I asked him for an alternative to bicillin for just the weeks when I can't get shots done. He said that doxy would work- it didn't sound like he uses this particular combo normally. I later found a rifampin/doxy interaction on drugs.com, but it didn't sound conclusive, just that it would lower doxycycline levels and that they'd need to be adjusted. I think for aggressive 3-drug combos like I'm wanting to take, there's not a huge amount of research on exact dosing and side effects, so I'm not at all suggesting that anyone would want to take the same route that I'm taking.
