It made it so I could sleep but I was so sleepy the next day I couldn't hardly go. I took it for ten years or so and never got over that side effect.

I take both trazadone and klonopin (plus more), at bedtime.

I tried it. I have tried everything for sleep. It actually made me feel very depressed.
My brother in law and mother in law use it and seem to like it. Everyone is different!
I ended up using Xanax and Ambien. It works the best for me so far. I still only get about 5 hours of sleep a night, but thats an improvement.

I used it for sleep when Ambien stopped working.
I took a very small dose, and it worked beautifully.
Gave me the best night's sleep I'd had in years.
Stopped it when I no longer needed sleep meds - last Feb, and haven't taken it since, but still grateful to have had it available when it was needed.
Everyone is different.
If it makes you feel hung over in the morning or anything else, maybe you can try lowering the dose.
Good luck!

I never took the other meds you've mentioned, but it worked GREAT for me.
I started out taking 1/2 of 25 mg & that was actually working quite well. I think I may have gone up to a whole pill once.
If you take too much it can make you drowsy the next day. I think the very low dose is key.
I'm curious as to the dose those that had problems were taking. I'm wondering if it may have been higher.
It IS an old antidepressant that isn't usually used anymore for that purpose because of the drowsiness.
For sleep, it's only taken once at bedtime in low doses. I believe that it was taken several times a day at higher doses as an antidepressant.
It worked wonders for me! I hope you find it helpful.

Anybody taking Trazadone should be careful going off of it. I took it for a time -- it helped at first, but then I built up a tolerance.
BUT I went off cold turkey and had a bad week of free floating anxiety and panic attacks -- which is described in the cautions.
Cut down gradually.

My Dr. gave me Trazadone to try and get me to wean off Ambien. She said it is not addictive and you can take it as long as you want. It didn't really work for me.

It works for me for depression and sleep. I take a fairly high dosage of it.
I also take Ambien or I don't sleep.

What dosage are you taking? I'd like to switch back to it as I have 3 bottles of it here.

When I was taking it, I took one 50 mg tablet but I also took 1/2 an Ambien. The idea was to get me off of the ambien completely. That never happened. I may try again as I would like to be on something that is not addictive.
Sleep tight
