I've had a feeling of intense pressure and pain in my thoracic spine for months now, and it has steadily gotten worse.
The past two months or so, it seems to be causing pain in both hips, and I can feel a band-like pain in my torso with deep breaths/coughing/sneezing.
Yesterday morning I woke up with what looks like bruises along my entire lower back, but they don't hurt to touch.
I had major back surgery in Dec 2007 for Spondylolisthesis, so I've assumed any back issues are not lyme-related, but of course I don't know that for sure.
I'm taking a 5 hour car trip this afternoon to take my 8 year old to his first LLMD appt so this is not a great time for more back problems.
Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?
Thanks!

You need to run a few blood tests to exclude bleeding disorders. Those would include a complete blood count and coagulation profile. You may have something in the mix with lyme ?even viral? Get LLMD to run tests.

I agree there are a few dangerous blood disorders that can cause the bruising. Show it to the doctor.

For what it is worth seems this bout with lyme is settling in my back. First muscles and then small of my back then down my legs. If i sit to long then it makes my back so weak. The other day i sat to long and i was walking like frankenstien shuffling to move and in major pain.
I feel mine is lyme related how ever un like you i can take advil and it eases. So my heart goes out to you if none of your pain meds are working.
