The prep calls for me taking two 10 oz bottles of Mag cit., one at 2 pm and one at 6.

Then, 4, count em, FOUR dulcolax.

Now, I've had 2 colonics this weekend, have had nothing but clear liquids all day, yesterday I ate 1 hard boiled egg in the evening and just a little veggies and noodles in the am.

LOTS of liquid.

I am almost "clear" after the prep and it is 8 pm. Do I really need all 4 dulcolax?

The doc on call has no idea what colonics are. . so don't bother suggesting that.

My bum hurts. And, as a lymie, you all know I need my sleep tonight. I have to be up 6:20 for my last clear liquids and then at the appt at 8:45 am.

I would do exactly as instructed. The reason is, my gastro told me how when people don't follow the instructions, he is not able to see the intestinal lining as well as he should.

He always praised me for doing as instructed and said how it made his job easier.

They really want even the slight residue off of the walls of the gut. It is like fine dust.

Don't break the rule and then get to the test only to be told that you are not cleaned out enough. I know you are giving up a night of sleep. But, you don't want to start over on another day. Just determine you will come home and sleep after the test is over. And boy do I know that your bum hurts. Yes.

I wish you a perfect test result.

A little vaseline or A&D ointment can ease the soreness.

Which my husband forgot to get at Target when I sent him for soft toilet tissue and wipes.

Ugh. I'm on my way out the door now for the ointment. Damn. Wish me luck.

On a lighter note - my 5 year old loves this joke.

How do you treat Swine Flu? Get some oinkment!
