I asked my LLMD to sign the form for a disability parking sign. She said she couldn't, because all of my symptoms are intermittent and that the last two patients she did this for got denied.
And, she said the fact that I am extremely mobile one day, and not the next is just typical of Lyme. She understands how it would help, but she said she can't. Not unless my hip gets worse and shows some damage (bones out of place, etc.)
So, I got thinking, as today my mobility was even less -- moving from the hip pain to the ankle so BOTH were affected and the left knee.
When people say they can't walk because of lyme, or they are wheelchair bound, is it sometimes NOT intermittent? What causes us not to be able to walk? Is it the inflammation? And can that inflammation cause damage if we just push through?
I have all kinds of questions now, because since I did the humaworm, it seems like my illness is completely different. It is MUCH more muscle pain and joint pain. But not less neuro or brain, unfortunately.
What should I be taking for all this inflammation? Is there a way to test it? I've never had need before. Although, I think they have tested it before, before I had the Lyme dx and it wasn't high. Therefore, I couldn't have LYME. lol!

Sorry you did not get the parking pass. I think that is so unfair.

My hips are SO lax now that I am wearing a pregnancy support brace around them. And, my hubby was in yesterday with crazy fluid and his ligaments are so lax on the right side (with the fluid) that they are recommending physical therapy. And, his bp was 87/50.
That makes 4/4 sick in my house.

My daughter can't walk because of a balance/weakness issue, like Six. She also has to hold onto things or crawl.
This is a recent development and it is constant for the past few weeks.
Six, how long did it last for you and what do you think caused it?
My daughter also has extremely low bp and tachycardia, so I think that must have its part in this.

That sounds completely unfair, that you couldn't get a disabled parking permit because you CAN walk on certain days. It seems like you should get one because you CAN'T walk on certain days.
There is usually a temporary type that you can renew every six months or something, which they frequently give people after surgery, etc., so perhaps that is easier to request than a permanent one? I'm sure it depends on the rules in each state.

Yeah. . I cope with the balance issues, and weakness and pain, but I keep watching these ligaments get looser. I feel like a barbie doll who had her legs yanked off one too many times.
Can you tell I have 3 older brothers? lol!

I would find a different doctor to help you. My pain doc works with all levels of disability. I have a placard and I usually use it. That way I can make it around the store without needing my wheelchair or a motor cart.
Even if I can get into the store, I may not be able to make it out. Once we had to send for a wheelchair.
Our life is so up and down, we never know from moment to moment how we will do. You need a doctor who understands this issue.
I would completely lost without my placard. I have even had to drive myself home because I could not park close enough to pick up my prescriptions.
You may certainly use my post to strengthen your argument!
