My eye twitching seems like it getting worse, its both eyelids.
I have a horrible cold this week and have noticed that sneezing starts it off.......
Could it be a nervous system response or coincidence???

Getting run down for any reason is a way, in and of itself, to set off twitching. It's likely that you're just really run down so you twitch more. The sneeze should have nothing to do with it.
BTW, I too noticed this. I can also induce some twitching by squeezing my eyes shut very hard. This is probably because it's easy to fatigue our muscles when we're sick (either from a cold or lyme or what have you)
