I had the flu or seemed like that had sniffles 1 night 2.next day ached 3.ached had stinging cough,4. 4th day no cough weak tired .
Skip ahead to following weekend coughing 3 to 4 times aday and heavey mucus but clear and very sticky skip ahead 4 weeks still coughing heavey flem clear, skip ahead warm weather cough only at night skip ahead cough now down to once a day But now I feel disconnected and like i dont care like watching same old movie over and over sleepy alot but dont sleep well.

Did you use a cough medicine that contained this:

dextromethorphan

When you go to the following link, used your edit key to find "dissconected":

http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/topics/Non-medical_use_of_dextromethorphan

P.S. Hope this passes. It can also be a sign of depression which involves the neurotransmitters.

Well I am a little behind you, but I possibly just went through the flu. I went to my PCP and he gave me Amoxy and didn't even test me for the flu, even though my temp was 101.5.

I called my LLMD which is out of state and he was concerned that it was the flu, since it started with a sore throat and fever, etc. So he had me start on Tamiflu.

Just finished Tamiflu yesterday and the Amoxy today. I have the lingering cough and congestion. I feel dizzy and spacey but maybe I am still getting over it. Or maybe it is from the meds. I took musinex for my congestion, so who knows.

Are you on an antibiotic? Maybe you have a secondary infection besides the flu?

It's scary when these symptoms pop-up, and we can't figure out what is causing them.

I am on my third bout of flu/cold in the last three months, and never used to get sick. In my case I am thinking it is my bodies way of detoxing, and that I need to find more detox support like a far-infrared sauna.

Could this flu have triggered something in the immune system, or neurological that is left over from lyme or babesia? What resonates with you?

Hey tree -- I'm going through the same cough, flu, tired, spacey depressed feeling. I attribute it to the start up of Spring with lots of barometric changes. My husband and two boys have had a stomach virus while I've been coughing. I have no tummy trouble, but this clear-flemmy cough is wet and constantly aggravating.

Spring is a detox time for releasing and flowing junk.... could this be similar for you? Tree pollen is waking up and blooming all over....

I think this is a virus of sorts. Kids in the neighborhood had this cough for 6 weeks! Couple the virus with Spring and voila -- spacey and depressed and, for me, feeling dopey (not in a good way).

As you battled Lyme, did any new allergies surface for you?

Wiserforit, I was wondering the same thing? HA! I am still coughing! Only a few days beyond finishing my meds for flu. Wondering if the depressed and disconnected feelings will surface. Its hard to tell if the flu/crud/whatever stuff is over when you can't get rid of the congestion.

Maybe the depressed/disconnected feeling is due to the body having to work extra hard to deal with the flu along with the already present lyme and co. Thats an extra burden or load placed on the body and who knows what the long term recovery for that will entail.

sutherngrl -- I'm with you on "the body having to wrk extra hard to deal with the flu along with already present lyme and co!"

We know that flem/mucous whatever the ick-form is... its' purpose is to carry bad stuff out. So we're draining bad stuff... that's good... as it comes out, it just feels rotten...

I also get depressed during viruses and spacey during the flu.... and coughing this often is dang tiring!

I Lung Salute you all,

Not yet ever since treating lyme and babs etc I relly dont have any allergies other than a occional sneeze?
But if i sand spruce wood now or even cut it my head will plug up for a week and then achy for 3 or 4 days like a mild herx?

I've been hearing alot about this respiratory infection going around. I got it...

At first, I thought it was some allergy. I got it right in the lungs from the beginning. I felt like someone shot me with an arrow right in my lung.

I'm really weak now... I can see why you would feel spacey. I think it's just some bad germ out there. Maybe it's in the chemtrails... who knows?

I'm thinking of trying some astragalus. This has been a helpful herb to me in the past. It will just take some time to heal... especially, if "healthy" people are having a hard time of it.

Drink alot of fluids, nice soup, bone broth, fresh orange, lemon or grapefruit juice, garlic, etc. Take it easy if possible... build yourself up & eventually it will pass.
