I'm still testing positive for active Mycoplasma after 2 1/2 yrs. Last year I also tested positive for C. Pneumoniae but now just showing past infection on that. Suspecting Bart as well. Did some treatment for Babs last year and am hoping that one is taken care of. Also tests show Klebsiella in gut.
It seems at this point that I should be focusing on the Myco. A Myco protocol seems it would also hit Lyme, Bart, Klebsiella. Anyone else go this route? If so, can you share your experience with me? Thanks!

For the myco treatment did you look at immed.org? I read that cpn is not always negative if it shows only IGG, it is as complicated as lyme.
How did you treat it? They say treatment will be a lot longer than one year.
I try to hit myco but I am only tolerating one abx at the moment. Would like to add NAC and later azithromycin or coptis if it can be substituted.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

I think Doxycycline or Minocycline are generally used to treat mycoplasma. These will also treat LD.

Laura- where did you have your myco tested? My LLND is aware of mycoplasma being an issue with lyme but said that testing is unreliable- and just sort of left it at that.

I reference whey as a way )( of getting rid of it though supporting glutothione at the precursor level

Yes, it is the protocol by Garth Nicholson that I am focusing on. This is the route I initially started with until I saw a Lyme doc and was told that the 2 mos. of Doxy I was on was more than sufficient to have taken care of the Myco and put me on Ceftin.
She refused to retest me so I had another doc recheck it and I was still postive through Quest so at my request the Lyme doc switched me to something that would hit both Lyme and Myco. I wasn't doing well on the Ceftin anyway. For a long time with my Lyme treatment I insisted that I be on an abx that also hit Myco. Further down the line I finally let up on that.
Now, 2 1/2 yrs. later I finally got retested for Myco by a new doc and sure enough still positive. I'm not sure which lab was used.
As far as the CPN, the latest test showed negative for active infection but now I'm not so sure. Again, not sure which lab was used for that. If the CPN is gone, I don't know which drug to attribute that to as I've been on many different combos.
Right now I am on Cipro to hit Klebsiella, Myco, and Bart. We re-evaluate in a month or two.

Lymeherx,
I briefly scanned your post about whey. I will read it in more detail when I have a little more time. Sounds very interesting. Thank you!

I'm thinking of combining protocols for Myco and CPN (Garth Nicholson's protocol for Myco and the Wheldon protocol for CPN) which should hit all the other bugs in the process.

Myco needs long term combos like Wheldon protocol of Doxy, Zith and Cipro (best tolerated) pulsed in for a week or so every few months. Plan on a year or more of this. It's a slow growing bug and takes time to beat it down.
That will also take care of CPN and Bart.
Be well.

Myco,
would the wheldon protocol work for myco pneumonia as well? Like Mino, azithro and flagyl?
Does anyone know if the azithro as crypt buster could be substituted by coptis ( Zhang). This would save one antibiotics.
I think the myco might be a big part of my disease. I have a Fry test showing the hemobartonella which is a mycoplasma.

Yes, Wheldon works for Mycoplasma but must be done exactly as written. No herbs for Mycoplasma. Raintree makes a Myco formula but not proven.
I would go with Doxy and Cipro combined. That's your best shot.

So is anyone here actually on Garth Nicholson's protocol or the Wheldon protocol?

Myco,
I just skimmed the Wheldon protocol again and didn't see anything about Cipro in there. It is recommended in the Myco protocol though.
That's what I mean about combining the two. The first abx I did in the quinolone family was Factive last year. I had good results with it which is why I want to revisit something in that family hence the Cipro. I also have responded to doxy and Zith so a combo with pulsed Flagyl sounds promising.
I really want to do it right this time as I feel maybe I could be done with treatment by now if I started on the right treatment right off the bat. Does anyone know if the Cipro can be pulsed? The reason I ask is that I think my doc is a little concerned about Cipro long term I think b/c of the possible tendon damage. Seems less concerned with the other abx and is willing to pulse Flagyl. Can Cipro be used long term?

Cipro can be pulsed 7-10 days out of the month with Doxy, Zith.

So it would be doxy and zith straight through for about a year, cipro pulsed 7-10 days a month, and where in there would the Flagyl be pulsed and for how long? How about dosages on all of them?
Myco, I'm guessing by your name that you have done this? How are you now? Are you finished with treatment? In remission I hope? Did your Lyme doc handle the Myco treatment?
Here's another question. Because I have been treating on and off for 2 1/2 yrs. and have hit Myco in there, do you think I'd need another full year of treatment like this? I think my numbers for Myco were originally over 2000 and I think now they're just over 1000. I think anything over 700something is high.

Have you tried IV Clindamycin? It is the second line of defense used to treat mycoplasma on the www.roadback.org website. The first is Minocin.
I've been on one week of IV Clindamycin a month, for a year and a half, and my mycoplasma numbers are finally coming down.

I was on oral Clindamcyin for a couple of weeks in March, but I relapsed anyway in April.
My titers are coming down with zith which just slays me.
Why can't we try Raintree Myco? I just ordered some. Some say they were helped. I can add them with the abx.

Ok, I got it. So this can be done for myco as well? It sounds a bit like what my LLMD was saying when I first relapsed. She said that doxy and zith could be taken together and each affect the myco at a different stage.
I think I'll try it, although I like being outside in the sun. I'm desperate to get well though.

I am on Wheldon protocol for chlamydia pn and mycoplasma pn. It took me three and half year of this continuous treatment to finally test negative for mycoplasma pn.

I directly asked W. whether this protocol should cover mpn along with cpn 5 years ago. His answer was yes.

When you guys say you tested positive for Myco, was it the IGG or IGM?
Was it by PCR, culture or antibodies?
I tested positive at first but now don't test positive on IGM anymore but I still have issues which I think are caused partly by Myco.
Thanks

My two kids and myself have elevated mycoplasma IGG. LLMD said it was past infection. Youngest is 600, oldest is 1400, mine is 500.
Are these numbers relevant or not? Should they be tested again? If so, how long do we wait?
