It depends on your insurance policy itself not just BC/BS.

My sister & I both have it BC/BS. Her policy is very different than mine. Her husband works for different city than mine did. Different plans but same company.

You have to ask your benefit rep or find your policy & check it.

i have federal bc/bs single option high plan.

they said nope -- not a prescription even tho the doc wrote it.

i just gave up. i'm sure there are other brands that might be just as good and not as expensive.

Thanks guys. Are there any other probiotics that have a history of being covered by some insurance plans? I only asked about VSL #3 because it has a history of being covered in some instances.

Probiotic need not be expensive. I used the swanson vitamin brands. Non-refrigerated. A llmd (former pres, of ILADS) told me with the less expensive ones you tend to take more & more often.

The only time I got a yeast infection was when I was using the refrigerated kind.

heres what I took plus hand fulls of the plain acidipholis (lower right of page)

Thanks DMC. What plain acidophilus did you take? It is not showing up for me.

it's on the right side. Scroll down. It's 250 pills for $5.49

BTW it was your new llmd who told me about being able to take more with the non-refrigerator.

Thanks dmc. I need to stop buying VSL3 if possible. They raised their darn price on the website again. I can't afford $52 for a 60 ct bottle of probiotics all the time. I'll try this one probably. These costs just add up to much. [Frown]

GEEZ- $52 for 60, that's just crazy. I got mine from iherb.com and they definitely weren't that bad. I think like $10 for 60. I will need to buy more soon.
