Finding foods/substances that are triggers.

For example, for me, no "hot" herbs such as ginger or curried dishes or peppers/ salsa/etc.

I can have a small bit of cooked garlic, basil and some mediterranean herbs.

For me, avoiding tomatoes, most fruits, spicy foods, citrus/lemons, gluten, dairy, vinegar, sodas, all chemicals....well the list goes on. I don't eat out, but that isn't a problem for me.

Each person needs to find their own triggers.

Chemicals in detergents, body care products and home cleaning, etc. can cause a flare.

Going organic and bio-degradable as much as possible helps.

Cotton underwear.

Lots of water.

Sometimes with a flare, homeopathic cantharis 30x or Hylands Bladder Irritation formula can help.

Marshmallow root capsules or in a mild tea.

Apparently, lyme and co-infections can mimick or cause i.c.

Sending ease and peace....

Hello! I have a thread going that has some good info from nice people, too!

I practice a low acid/high alkaline diet and it has helped a lot - now I am in a flare and got some good ideas here.

They suggested Baking Soda or Alka Seltzer in a flare.

I would also reccomend low acid coffee if you have to have it (I do and I cold brew it - nothing tastes better!)

I only use non toxic products on my body, for cleaning and in the wash as recommended above.

Only white cotton undies - no bleach and double rinse. No soap on the vulva! Use organic or non bleached feminine hygiene (like Natra care, Seventh Generation, etc)
