Wow, that's a high dose. My LLMD wanted me on 500 mg and I couldn't tolerate it, we had to use something else, but I know a lot of people can handle the 500 mg easily.
I always took my abx with food. I had too many stomach issues not to.

I am 120 lbs and I was on 500 mg a day of that. But I took it WITH Ceftin to get the different forms of Lyme
-------------------- First Symptom 9/09 Multiple docs, negative Labcorp test LLMD: 1/10 Positive Igenex/CDC test Treatment 2/10 2/10-8/10 Amox, ceftin, zith, flagyl Currently: Bicillin, Minocycline, still dealing with severe breathing issues
I weigh 115 and take 500 mg a day, 250 am, 250 pm, with food and have had no adverse effects. Right now it is combined with artemisia and mepron for babesia. I'm wondering what a higher dose would accomplish. 1000, or 1200 is a lot more than I take.

I was on zitro... I weigh about 125...my LLMD started me out on 1200 mg day but it was too much for me to handle...we had to back down way low on dosage (I seem to be sensitive to some meds and not others)
That does seem like a high dosage of zitro...are u seeing a LLMD?
Do you mean you are suppose to be taking 250 mg 4 times a day that would = to a total of 1000 mg a day (if so that doesn't seem too bad)...Certainly you didnt mean 1000mg 4 times a day???
Just try what your Dr suggests and play it by ear..if u start to have trouble back off some of it and call your Dr back.
I would definently take it with food and not on an empty stomach...even my son could not tolerate low dosage without food first.
