hello I am 26 years old, I am seeking information on doctors in PA.
I found out yesterday that I tested positive for lyme disease via blood test, as my family doctor so rudely mailed me my results along with a prescription (doxcycline.) but no phone call or information.
I have been experiencing the folloing symptoms of the past 6months to a year:
severe headache depression frequent mood changes diarrhea/constipation weekly it varies pain at the base of my neck/constant cracking inability to concentrate (recent) light sensitivity (recent) numbness in pinkie fingers (recent) joint pain in left knee (recent) fatigue inability to focus on faces or objects motion sickness/floating feeling jaw tightness and cracking seeing spots/specs/dark circles floating severe muscle pain
I really hope you can help I'm so tired of feeling this way it is interfering with my job and life in general.
I am terrified, angry, frustrated, and most of all depressed.

Hi - you can also post in Medical Questions and/or General Support to discuss everything. We will all respond to your questions, feelings, etc. At least you're on your way now to beginning some treatment. There's a lot to learn about how to treat.

this is a great site!! such supportive people and everyone is very helpful. I would have never known what to do without this website.
as people will tell you here, go find yourself a good llmd right away! the quicker you start the right treatment the better. my reg doc gave me prednisone which is the worst thing i could have taken. then i got worse and found a llmd.
i've been on the road to recovery for over 4 years but slowly getting better.
I thank God for every day that he blesses me with.
Keep the faith - you can get better!

P.S. I am also sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I know it is hard and scary. Hopefully this can help us both out.

This is a good site, lymeconfusion. I was very scared when I first got diagnosed and realized I had a serious illness that it would be a struggle to deal with. 2 years in, and I'm significantly better, though I still have a ways to go. Basically, though, I now know that it can be dealt with. People will help me - let yourself trust them and the great lyme docs who are out there. Keep your hope alive - there's reason to hope!
