My husband has Lyme and we live in central MA.

His story:

- He was bit by a deer tick in May; we pulled it off and saved it in the freezer.
- Nothing came of it until August when he started to have tremendous leg (primarily) stiffness. I will emphasize that he never had any symptoms until August; he never felt ill or developed a rash.
- He went to an urgent care clinic and the MD was stumped. The MD compiled a long list of blood tests to run. My husband asked to be tested for Lyme, the MD obliged, and he tested positive.
- My husband just finished a month of doxycycline and his knees are only somewhat improved.

My husband loves to walk and hike and hates that he has been so restricted in his physical activity and is very scared about long-term effects of Lyme.

We would like to find an MD in the UMASS system who is LL to get him the competent help he needs while not breaking the bank.

I would appreciate any help. Thank you!
