If it's any consolation, Lymetoo, I don't think people know much about the political situation, and need to be educated about what's going on. Then they'll understand better why it's best not to give full names. Just my opinion.

Many post their phone numbers, too, in the body of their message.
I think those who are new to the site don't understand the private message function and post their personal information, so others can contact them.
Yes, please read this before registering.
Do not register using your real name and do not include your telephone number in your post.
The private messaging system is used to communicate with each other without having to provide personal information.

Just edited out someone's personal address today. Seems to be common sense not to divulge personal info on a public information board. Then add in the political nature of Lyme and it becomes very dangerous.

When I was so sick with Lyme 2 years ago, and I had finally found this site, I had such a difficult time making sense of anything.
I couldn't figure out how to register and how to even post. It took me a month or two. Then I remember this terror I had about posting any replies.
I couldn't figure out how to log in each time.
My brain was so filled with Lyme. I used to stand in my house and just stare and stare and stare.
Maybe some people that come on here are like that. Maybe it is difficult for them to figure things out if they have lots of Lyme and co-infections on their brain.
Why don't we change the very top of each page?
We could put it in HUGE letters, underneath where it says "dedicated to the Bachmann family".
We could post there in larg letters,
DO NOT POST YOUR REAL NAME, ADDRESS, NOR YOUR PHONE NUMBER ON THIS WEBSITE!
Do you know how long it took me to figure out a lot of stuff on this website?
It is so depressing as I look back now. I didn't know what a PM was or how to do it.
I didn't know how to join in on conversations here. I was also scared that I would do it wrong, so I didn't bother at all.
I had Lyme so bad 2 years ago, that I handed in BLANK paperwork that I had been doing for over 10 years!! I handed it in to my boss all blank. I could have sworn that I had looked it over about a million times! And I get A phone call from my boss,,,, "your suppossed to fill this out"
I just about died! It wasn't the end of the world, but I was so humiliated!
So maybe people just have alot of Lyme on their brain.
Oh yeah, it also took a long time for me to figure out
UP
and why people did it for some of the topics here.
Boy did I feel stupid.
It took me a whole year to figure that out.
I love all of you here!
I have one little request.
Could we make this website a little prettier? We are such a great forum, but it really doesn't look like that much when you first come and join.
We could update the banner across the top and maybe add photo's of ticks around the edges and all kinds of stuff.
I don't want to insult the person who did this one. It is wonderful, but I guess the artist in me gets restless and I like to change things up a bit from time to time.
Lots of love from missing.

I guess I probably shouldn't have used something that looked like a real name - it's kind of confusing. I have just used it as a screen name for a long time - she's my hero! Kind of like using Peter Parker or Clark Kent. Posts: 2 | From Tulsa, OK | Registered: Nov 2011
