I am debating swithcing to Dr. H., I had a bad exp. with him back in 1997, I need a thorough LLMD who deals with Chronic Lyme and also deals with the devasting effects on my health in general after 2 decades with this disease.

I see Dr H. There are pros and cons.
Pros are he knows lyme and has a expansive toolkit. He looks at the whole body including heavy metals, detox, etc. He is probably one of the best Babesia docs out there. I've made good progress with him.
Con's are he has a huge ego. You will hear lots of stories about how he goes to China and how he is the expert in Babesia. He doesn't seem to review your case / notes before the appointment as each time I have to tell him things I've told him many times before. He is less flexible and open to trying new things. Granted he has a lot of good protocols, but I know many LLMD's who are open to new protocols. He tends to use the ones he knows because he is the "expert."

Positives outweigh any negatives IME/O. Def. has a strong personality but I like that about him. Very focused on treating Babesia.
Pro.'s are worth the transient con.'s. You just need to be strong in your communication with him or he may not hear you.
I love my NP - actually find his approach better for me at times then Dr. H. but I see them both and get a nice balance of the two.
