It's been quite some time since I've been on these forums. I get so discouraged and overwhelmed by it all it's hard to focus.
I was officially diagnosed in 8/10.
I've seen plenty of drs.in the past 8 months for symptoms I am sure are related to Lyme and my Lyme diagnosis is brushed aside.
I had one Rheumatologist at VCU tell me that he would advise against treatment because I seemed to be functioning just fine and dealing with my issues.
I have asked this question in the past and am hoping perhaps there is new information.
I have seen two drs. in Virginia for Lyme.
I've seen Dr. S in *** who began to treat Lyme patients about three years ago. He accepts insurance or at least he did when I last saw him 1.5 years ago.
I've also seen Dr. H in ****. I last saw her over a year ago.
She accepts insurance and I now see she is also charging a $100 administration fee every three months along with copays and other expenses.
Though expensive far cheaper than LLMD drs. who charge more and no insurance. She practices Dr S
I'd be interested to hear if anyone else out there sees either of these drs. and your thoughts on the care/treatments you are receiving.
I'd also be interested in hearing about other doctors as well.
I need to get on the ball and stop ignoring this illness. It's not going to go away on its own.
***edited names of LLMDs' cities and an LLMD name***
