My wife currently has an appointment with Dr. C in MO but I am getting a little nervous about it with some of the other discussions about him here:

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=002746

We are on a waiting list for Dr. J in NC...should we wait on him or go ahead with our appointment in Oct. with Dr. C?

I just want to make the right choice here.

I don't understand what is considered negative by that thread. You had two people who DO NOT see Dr C expressing misconceptions about his procedures and charges. They were misinformed. I guarantee you that you will be very happy with DR C.

I can even give you a few names of people happy with him. I'll check with them first to see if it's OK for you to email them.

I hope some of them will see this thread.

Maybe I'm just reading too much into things...I got his pre-appointment packet today and after reading it I felt better.

I know numerous people here love him and I am sure we will too.

Thanks for putting up with my cold feet [Smile]

I understand. Give me a call if you'd like to discuss it more. The packet probably tells you alot!

My kids (age 19 & 15) had appointments with Dr. C on Tuesday.

We have been patients of Dr. C since 5/04. Email me if you have any questions.

Yup. I was misinformed by the Drs. office. But, although I see a different Doc, I definitely have no negative feelings or thoughts towards Dr. C's ability as a doctor. If I had the money on hand to see him, I probably would. In that thread, I'm simply making comments about how the finances work and what I can afford. However, even with my choices there have been some trade offs. It's all a matter of what your needs and capabilities are.

I highly recommend Dr. C in MO. I have been a patient of his since 2002.

I seriously don't think I would be as far as I am today without his help, care and expertise.

In my opinion, he is an expert in treating Lyme disease, listens carefully to patients regarding their symptoms, explains side effects of different medicines, etc.

He answers all questions whether it be in office or by phone.

I will retain him as my Lyme Dr. even though I feel well. I'm back to doing most everything I did before Lyme, and I'm grateful.

Went back and read the link you provided and didn't see what you were seeing in reference to Dr. C.

I certainly would not be either in a good remission or I am now cured after over 3 years of treatment, mostly with antibiotics....

Oh, AND BTW,

NOT once in those three years with Dr. C did he prescribe me Herbs of any sort....not radical one I-O-DA...dont' see the problem....all the ones I've read have been only positive things about Dr. C of MO.

Just my opinion and not trying to start something.

I'm a skeptic just because of all the docs. before. So please just hang in there w/ me.
What if we're so excited to see someone like this just because we know he will listen. Am I making sense? My husband first brought this up. Also if lyme is not the current problem~ just a set up for the current problems~ can he treat that. I know of an endocrine in joplin that doesn't accept insurance either. She also has people flocking to her because she will actually listen. They don't have the insurance companies tying their hands.

This could be bad or good : "Listen and they will come." What do you guys think? I'm sick scared and lost. My dad died when I was 17. My mom lives near Las Vegas. Bottomline: I have no extended family to help. My husband can't handle anymore or I think he's going to have a heartattack~ and~ my sons don't deserve this.
Any feedback is very appreciated.

First free...I understand what you're saying. Do your symptoms seem to be pointing to Lyme? [you can click on the little icon next to the pencil/pad icon next to the date if you want to private message me]

Dr C is a family practice physician and is a good diagnostician too. I had a GP misdiagnose me here on something unrelated, and I finally drove over to Dr C's and he figured out my problem with just a few simple questions the moron here didn't ask!

He sends his new patients a VERY comprehensive questionaire which he will go over with you. It details your entire medical history.
