I need a doctor you will use IV meds in the NYC, NJ, Westchester area. Any suggestions? My current MD will not prescribe them for some reason. Thanks!

I had a very bad experience with Dr. L in Armonk.

However I understand Dr. H. in Hyde Park is excellent but may not be accepting new patients.

You should be aware that LLMDs are now under extreme pressure not to prescribe medications that they believe are sometimes necessary. They face the possible loss of their licenses. The more expensive or risk-entailing the treatment the more problematic. I don't know the details of your case so I don't know what to advise. Both the doctors mentioned in the above post have, to my knowledge, excellent reputations for improving the health of Lyme patients even though they do not always have a free hand.

I have been on orals for 5 months. I tested positive for Lyme, Babesia and Mycoplasma (didnt specify type). I have taken doxy, mepron, zithromax, plaquenil and septra DS. Any thoughts? -Nikki

If it is mycoplasma fermentans none of those antibiotics will help except for the doxy and that only enables your immune system to clear that infection. You immune system is probably so overwhelmed and/or compromised due to the other infections. I recommend either Ketek and/or a Floroquinlone both of which have properties that will kill mycoplasma. Don't underestimate the mycoplasma, if left untreated is could be even more difficult to eradicate than the Bb.

My LLMD is Dr B in Rhinebeck. He's great and uses IV abx.

Hi,

I have used Dr. C in Mt. Kisco, Dr. L in Armonk and Dr. H in Hyde Park.

Of those three Dr. H stands out, and so does his assistants.

Dr. H is the most hollistic of them all. Dr. L and Dr. C merely give you abx and don't consider other extremely important aspects of your health, such as your diet, detoxification, supplements, and so on.

I've heard only good things about Dr. B too, but have not used him myself.

If Dr. H is not accepting new patients, try to get in with one of his assistants. If this is not possible either, keep trying.

The one thing that's not so good about Dr. H is that he truly is very busy. You will probably feel rushed in his office...that is, if you're seeing him personally. His assistants have more time.

Have your questions ready beforehand. Bring a tape recorder. Forget about writing down what he's saying.

Michael

I'm not an MD. The above is IMO and in my experience as well as from health related books.

I've had symptoms consistent with neurological Lyme disease since 1986. Was diagnosed with Lyme in 2004. Am feeling better now than ever before.
