Gary, I'm guilty of not reading "Support" board lately -- just found this today - yikes. I'm so sorry you're in this battle, but cancer doesn't know who it's pickin' on this time!! We've missed your wonderful dry humour here. Sending warm healing thoughts and prayers your way.
And a hug, too!

I posted a new thread about Gary's Caring Bridge Site, but thought many of you would come back to the original thread to see if Gary updates posts.
However, I'm also providing the link to Gary's Caring Bridge site so you can see his updates there. Between many of your help we are able to get periodic updates from Gary and we post them to the Caring Bridge website versus here.
Not saying Gary won't come back on lymenet to give his thanks and updates, (but he is tired and going through a rough time now) so for those who didn't know WE created a site here it is:

it never occured to me to post something on here.there are time's that i have my head so far up my( ha! bet you thought i was gonna say it). is true tho.
you people have shown me so much kindness , my word's cannot express.when i really think about it,i wonder why folk's show kindness to someone they never met.is it the way we were bought up? were you born this way? you are the people who stop at an accident, get out of your car and help the injured.you don't just gawk an drive on by...why do you do this?
i accept your kindness, without knowing that answer.you all should wear your halo, with pride.( even tho some of you, your halo is alittle crooked)..lol..
thankyou from the bottom of my heart.your the best. be well , gary
psssst.. i will try and come back here as often as i can remember..........

Gary, WHAT A SURPRISE TO FIND YOU HERE!
so glad to talk to you again my friend! been sure thinking about you; 8 days till you go now! i sure hope they can give you HOPE on the newest things available for your esophagus cancer!
gary, i was born and brought up this way! my dad was sick his entire life so our relatives, neighbors, and friends would come in and put in and take out the crops as they were ready. this went on his entire farm life.
when he was well and recuperated, he'd turn around and give back to others during their illnesses that cropped up.
i was the chair of our state toys for tot campaign for 1,000 in our complex for 4 years. i had to give a wrap up summary to our commissioners each year.
i used the above example of my dad's illnesses one time. told them this was my way of paying back for all the many kindnesses given to dad/our family over decades. my head boss division director/those attending loved what i said from my heart and nothing was written down.
gary, YOU FORGOT TO TELL US HOW YOUR TOMATOES ARE COMING! we're envious you know! take care and "remember" again, will you?

It was nice reading about your current goings on, even though things sound pretty undecided at the moment.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this challenging time!
My neighbor had esophogeal cancer and had the surgical procedure you refer to. That was at least 2 years ago and he is doing well. I saw him at the local ice cream place last week enjoying a malt and he was smiling, laughing, and had a sparkle in his eye I hadn't seen in a while.
best wishes my friend. We're all pulling for you!

NOT good news. gary needs major cheering up. please tell him how you've been, how your vegetable garden is coming, how your pets are, anything but his health right now ..... he loves getting his mind over the latest news.
i also had a nice PM from him tonight, and posts like the above paragraph REALLY MAKE HIS DAY, putting smiles on his face, etc. he's very grateful for them.
gary, we miss you and your humor here!

Gary,
I'm so sorry you're going through all this.
May God give you the strength to endure this difficult time (and a nice, big, fat, juicy T-bone when it's all over !).
Hopefully, you too will be sitting around laughing and smiling soon.
I'll keep you in my prayers. May God bless and heal you.
Hurry up & get well! I'm sure the poms would like to have the left-over bone.
Ali
