For those of us who don't follow country music closely, Here are the lyrics to Brad Paisley's current best-seller, "Ticks".

Who would ever have imagined there would be a song like this???

Brad Paisley - Ticks Added by Site Admin on 2007-03-22 03:39:47
--
[Ticks]
Every time you take a sip
In this smoky atmosphere
You press that bottle to your lips
And I wish I was your beer
In the small there of your back
Your jeans are playing peekaboo
I'd like to see the other half of your butterfly tattoo.

Hey that gives me an idea
Let's get out of this bar
Drive out into the country
And find a place to park.

'Cause I'd like to see you out in the moonlight
I'd like to kiss you way back in the sticks
I'd like to walk you through a field of wildflowers
And I'd like to check you for ticks.

I know the perfect little path
Out in these woods I used to hunt
Don't worry babe I've got your back
And I've also got your front
Now, I'd hate to waste a night like this
I'll keep you safe you wait and see
The only thing allowed to crawl all over you when we get there is me.

You know every guy in here tonight
Would like to take you home
But I've got way more class than them
Babe that ain't what I want.

'Cause I'd like to see you out in the moonlight
I'd like to kiss you way back in the sticks
I'd like to walk you through a field of wildflowers
And I'd like to check you for ticks.

You never know where one might be
There's lots of place that are hard to reach
I gotcha.

I'd like to see you out in the moonlight
I'd like to kiss you baby way back in the sticks
I'd like to walk you through a field of wildflowers
And I'd like to check you for ticks.

I'd sure like to check you for ticks...

Actually, I have been busy helping my husband get past some very severe surgery. He is doing much better now.

And I am someone who really admires country music as a great American art form.
Just haven't had time to keep up with Brad Paisley.

Having been an advocate for Lyme disease patients for many, many years, I know that there was a time when most of the country would have had no clue as to why you should check somebody for ticks. We, who were desperate to have some kind of education on Lyme, would have been so happy to have someone in the public eye even mention that ticks might be dangerous.

Does anyone know if he has a special interest in preventing tick-borne illnesses?

I don't know about his interests...but he IS from West Virginia... so he should know plenty about ticks!

It's hard to "keep up with" Brad Paisley!! [Wink]

I'm very glad your husband is doing much better. We DID miss you while you were gone. I was wondering what happened to you!

Oh Boy, im gona love this Post ! Hey did ya hear about that other Tic song. Stay@Home Dar, and hear-say, his next tic song will be titled "Dam-Tic".

Im hoping to have it released by this fall. Now why dident Dar think of the first song...? This just may be the start of something new.

Who would knew that Brad P. would start some thing, and give us Lyme'ees a voice.

I had my song on American Idol before Ann told me about the other song. But,

Like they say in the bussines, Timeing Is Everything ! You can hear my new Tic song on these to web sites.

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=170506428
http://www.idolunderground.com/Pages/Profile/UserProfile.aspx?UserID=228219

Maby I'll try and have Dam-Tic out by Aug. if every thing go's right.

Daaaaaa, scared to go out side, good thing were going to start going to the dock and staying on the boat next weekend.

If all of us Lyme's-ees start calling into our local radio stations, and requesting that song,

maby Brad will do another one too. Gotta keep it on the chatrs as long as we can.

And were the one's that can help do that, Cuz we know why.........! Tex Out !
[Razz]

Since the singer is from my state, the local radio station is giving away tickets to a concert in Florida for whoever can find the tick on their mascot "the rabbit"...

Im, Sorry ! If I wanted to spell Wood Tick,I would of spel'ted-it-that-a-way!

And Lymies is what we are. Now, Lyme'ees ( Said LYME'ees ) is Broaken-Car's, Planes, Train's, & Automobiles.

That dont fit into the Real World anymore.. And I though my Miss-Spellin, was right-on. Got stright A's, all the way threw music school.

And if I ever get a song out on the FM Dial, I'll have my Editor proof it for me if my Auto Mechanic-Care Giver, ( Miss Ann Mary )is'nt home from work yeat.

I just dont have spell-check on netscape, like I did on AOL, when I was TixanDar......! And 1/3 of the time, im spelling it that way for a reason.

Im differant, maby to differant for most. Guess, I'll go back to Texas, and under the wood pile with them Wood-Tick's,

and write a new song. HE He He....! Gotta go get the Car-Fixer-Up'er, Care-Giver from work.

I have a heater hose leakin, and my horn wont stop Blowin......! TixanDar OuT ! [Roll Eyes]

Sorry,,,,,,,,,,In my world, there is two kind's of TICK's. The one's crallin threw the weed's, looking for a victim,

and the ones that are on ya. Ticks, are "Creepy-Little-Thing's crawling every-whAre this year.

"Tic's" on the other hand, have dun-found a great blood supply. Ya's see, I was standing in line at the supper market,

when this 20'ish Chic in front of me finds a TIC on her arm, just under the T-Shirt Arm,and what happen'ed next

was,or should be on You Tube.......! The High-Pitch'ed Screem, to her boy friend to get it off her,was entertaining to say the least.

Screaming, get it off of me,I've got a " TIC " on me,and it's freekin-me-out. There was no time to put the "K" on the word, and if she could,

she would of jumped out of her short's & tank-top, and, in a bluer, been 1/4 mi. from the seen.

See, her boy friend was trying his best to get it, but the screaming-dance, she was doing,

thAre was now way to get close to her. Every time he try'ed,he'ed get hit with thrashing arm's.

Well,in the end,the now tick, was flung from her body, and who know's whAre, it land'ed

or on who, and treambling, and shaking, Her boy friend got the food pay'ed for and got her out to the car.

How Cool was that,to see how we feel when we find a tick crawling on us. Poor Dar,

everytime I find a "TIC" on me,I cant help to reamber that time, and how she felt in the super market.

Dident matter if any one else was in thAre, it was just her and the Tic.

Reamber, there wasent time to put the "K" on the end,but her boy-friend better do something, and "FAST"......!

Trying to tackle an Ol Grissly Bearr, would of

been a hole lot eazer, the his now, out of control Girl friend.

In my stupid world, thAre's 2 kind's of ticks. One's looking for you,

and one's on you, and fixin to have a Great-Meal, Tonight..! Out ! [Razz]

Cuz it's not gona look good in the morning. And it's gona leave a mark too.......!,

and a Bull's-Eye, on the new Tic-Host. And to think, it all started with a walk down the path, and a tick,

crawllin-in-the-grass.......! Poor girl, if we only had You Tube, back then.

Evan the tick knew when it's time to Jump.

TixenDar, or TicksinDar, or what ever, I are

Im having more fun than I did when I had a Music Creer,,,,,,OK,Cant reamber the road day's,and all the people claping.

But, the plan is to get thing's all stired up,and people talking, and calling thier local radio station,

and wanting more of that tick ( "TIC",Cuz he think's it's on her ! ) and keeping it alive and played every day.

The longer it's on the chart's,the longer it's in people's minds.

And that's a good thing. Come on folk's,,,,,,,,,,,,,When's the last time a Brand-New Car

with every thing you could oder, came along side yr bust'ed up old junker,

and wanted to know,,,,,,,,," Ya Need A Hand..........! I've got some brand new part's, ya cant have.

And my new song WILL BE "Dam-Tic", cuz it's on me,and yr gona like what Dar has to say back to IT.....! I hope.

Done Took My Life-Away,and made me a Junker,and im only 48 year's old ! OK,55 This year,

I Think I Lye'd for so many years, gotta ask Ann how old I Realy Are....?

Gone, My Auto-Mechanic, called Supper
! Tix OuT ! [Razz]

Just for the record a "tic" is a repetitive motion ofa muscle on the face or elsewhere, for example an involuntary twitching of an eyelid.

It is pronounced exactly like "tick".

Posted that what NO WAY!!! What I understood what Brad meantBrad said about his fans
that when he put out a song about "stupid bugs"
etc. Fans buy it! Poster thought Brad felt like"his fans were shallow" and thought he "insulted his fans"

by saying that was: He was amazed at the
loyalty of his fans. And how much he appreciates
his fans!
You have to know Brad and his sense of humour.
Just had to post this in defense of Brad.

Love You Brad
And thanks for making your fans feel appreciated.
