So there I am in the Baskin Robbins parking lot (no Lyme diet for US*)! with my little one and I hear, "LYME DISEASE! LYME DISEASE!" and this man with dog is striding toward me.
"I HAVE HAD LYME DISEASE!" he says.
"I BET you have!" says I.
"YOU have had Lyme disease?" he asks.
"Yes." says me.
"I saw your bumpersticker!" he says, "No one understnads what Lyme can do to you!"
"We have a support group that meets this Thursday night." I tells him.
"MORE people with Lyme disease?"
"Aptos has the highest MIR in adult ticks in ALL OF CALIFORNIA!" I tells him, "17.8%!"
Shock registers in his eyes. Clearly he had been told he was a RARE RARE case.
"Let me write down the time!" (of support gorup!)
Voila*)!
BUMPERSTICKERS WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#2 bumperstickers work story!!!
When my older daughter & I were going door-to-door selling Girl Scout cookies, about 2 blocks form our house the woman says, "I know who you are!' to ME, ignoring my kiddo completely.
(Huh?)
"YOU have the Lyme Disease BUMPERSTICKER car!" she asys, "Whenever I see your car, I get afraid!"
(Glee, success, yay, I inspire FEAR*)!
So I put ANOTHER bumpersticker on our mailbox. FEAR FEAR FEAR*)!*)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I scare people too.
I have a bumper sticker that says
"My other car is a broom."
I normally would not put a bumper sticker on my car, but would like to get a Lyme one.
Good way of visually getting the word out there.
Where did you get one?
Hugs,

HA! Funny Sarah!
Yes.. they work! I've had folks follow me right off the highway to ask questions.
But I didn't know the trick about the "fear" thing. Guess I'll have to put them up instead of the other signs I use that say..
"Warning! Our snakes escaped captivity.. enter at your own risk."

Hey it shows we are spreading the word. I DJ at a local bar for extra cash on the weekends. Everyone knows I have Lyme Disease because I am the only person in the world with a job that I could drink for free at, and I can't drink!
So I've told everyone it makes me sick because I have Lyme disease. So anyways two people have come up to me and told me that they saw my myspace and recognized a bull's eye rash on their kids after being bit. I directed them to my LLMD.
So here I am up in a DJ booth telling people about Lyme disease, lol. Hey whatever works. So all of you installing fear or knowledge about Lyme, good for you.
