Hi all.
My beautiful, courageous daughter, who has been ill off and on all year round
Graduated from kindergarten this morning.
I had tears in my eyes. I was the only weeping parent.
Despite the herxing, allergic reactions and catching every viral infection around,
She did it. I am so proud. What a trooper!
Just wanted to share a really good moment with all of you.

I still have tears in my eyes thinking of my 12 year old's K graduation.
I can't believe you were the only moist eyed parent in the room!
You and your family have so much to feel proud of.
I am proud of YOU, Geneal.
You got the child up every morning, got her dressed, packed a lunch, picked her up, helped her with projects.
I have no clue how you did it, because sometimes I think my kids survived despite me, not because of me.
You give me courage, Geneal, when I think of all you have been through and are going through.
When I get morose thinking of "all that I have lost" I get over it realizing that it is nothing compared to what you guys have had to let go of and have done without.
Sending you thoughts of light and love over your corner of the world, and the beautiful new home you are building for your growing family.

My children are my main reason I go forward.
How could I not?
My husband (who hasn't treated for about 7 months) has finally consented to go to LLMD.
It is a day of hope, prayers answered and tears of happiness.
How blessed I truly am.
I am so blessed by you all here. I could not do what I do without you.

I just dug out my video's of my son's graduation of pre-school....he is graduating College this Wednesday.....
I know exactly how you feel.....being so proud...I will be a mess on Wednesday..
your little girl is such a brave one and has overcome so much in her few years of life...
great job mom....I agree with what Be joy said....behind that little girl was her mom...who made sure she was up...and dressed and kept putting one foot in front of the other...

What a brave little girl. I am sorry she has to deal with illness.
She is lucky to have such a great mommy!!!
My little girl graduated from pre-school this Friday. They are even wearing caps and gowns. I can't wait to go and I am sure I will be balling like a baby.
She is my little mommy. When I don't feel good she gets out my sick blanket (that's what she calls it) and makes me a really mushy peanut butter sandwich. It takes all I can to choke it down but it makes her so proud.

I cringe thinking of my little Lymie's Kindergarten graduation-because she was undiagnosed at that time-well undiagnosed for Lyme.
The next year I had to homeschool her because nobody could put it all together for us.
My proud moment came this year at the sports banquet when Carolyn was given the Unsung Hero's Award.
Last year Carolyn didn't make it through the soccer season due to Lyme Disease. Poor baby.
But she showed up this year with more resolve and determination. Maintaining a magna cum laude grade point average and offering awesome defense as sweeper on the Vasity Soccer Team.
Our children are champions even without winning trophies.

It is remarkable how resiliant all of our children are.
Whether they are ill and dealing with ill parents, or just having ill parents.
They are remarkably flexible and rise to the occasion.
I haven't done nearly as well.
They are a shining example of hope, courage and promise of better days.

no matter how old they are, how many times i've been to graduations, i still cry when my kids do it.
last summer i had tears for my oldest as he completed a grueling second master's degree from columbia teachers college.
i know i will have more tears when my youngest completes law school in two more years.
and then there are my grandchildren, the first of whom will enter this world this summer. i'm sure i'll cry for them too!
no matter the age, we still offer moral support, as well as being there for them when they really need it.
i've had to be there physically for two of mine in the last six months, and now my local two are getting a chance to be there for me. what a blessing they have been!

It is hard enough to be a good parent when healthy. The fact that you are able to be part of their lives dispite this dispicable disease speaks volumes. Kids understand more than you think.
Be very proud of yourselves...and your kids!
