Forget the Bucket List!

I was laying here thinking of things I really want to do when I get better. It started with a commercial that showed kids doing karate, and I thought of how much I wanted my son to be able to go to karate, but for the last four years he hasn't been able to be involved in any extracurricular activities.

So, I started my "Better List"!

Better List:

Cody - karate lessons
Friends over
Photography class
Cooking class
Yoga
Church
Date night
Family night
Vacation

What's yours?

The same question was asked recently in a local support group. Most said they wanted to travel again and visit people.

My better list.....

Keeping up with my children all the time [Smile]

More laughter

More smiling

More energy

Coke icees' (I really, really miss those!)

(Can I add in chocolate cake, Baskin Robbins Ice Cream, etc?)

Maybe take up my job again ( which I loved/love)

Continued grass roots efforts to educate/advocate about Lyme disease.

Attend a rally and meet all of you remarkable people.

Enjoy the cold weather again. (Love fall and winter...now it makes my hands and feet too cold!)

Go play in the snow!

Hugs,

Geneal

Wow, I'm feeling really emotional today and this thread brought tears to my eyes. Some days... I forget to dream and who I was before Lyme disease...
Anyways, here goes!

Eat every kind of cake, cookie and pie ever made [lick]

Make concrete plans without obsessing over how I'm going to feel on that particular day.

socialize (and enjoy it rather than faking and wondering when I can get back home and crash)

Dance until I drop at least once a month.

Have a LARGE glass of wine [Big Grin]

Have children.

Spend my money on fun stuff rather than every med/supp. under the sun.

COFFEE (Oh how I miss it!)

Help others get through this mess that is Lyme.

Gosh, just get back out into the world again in every way possible!

Thanks Tracy, for reminding me to dream.

Lauren

I sat in bed and thought about this last night and bam!

Okay I am a bad mother.

My better list would have to focus on my children being symptom free.

Both of them.

I would gladly continue treatment the rest of my life if they would get better.

For good.

Hugs,

Geneal

Tracy, I love this idea!

My "Better List":

Go on vacation with my family
Eat in a Restaurant
Eat Pancakes
Eat dinner with my family every night (the SAME dinner as my family)
Go out with my friends
Go on a trip with my friends
Go back to college
Get my driver's license
Get my first job
Take some sort of art class (photography or painting)
Start taking yoga classes
Join a church and a church group
Volunteer in special education classrooms
Write again.

And the list goes on. I could go on all day. But we'll just start with these!

I would like to go to Hawaii and Alaska--the only two states I have not been to. Of course, I would like to go back to Europe as well.

I would like to be able to play tennis again and walk everyday without a walking stick.

I would like to go to movies and restaurants and concerts and church which I do not do now because the stimuli sets off my seizures.

I would like to drink a cold beer while watching a baseball game. [Cool]

I believe it will happen someday!! Hiker53
