Hello, Monday! And goodbye, June! Wow, how come the winter doesn't fly by like this?

This thread is about not giving in to this disease. No matter what our ability is, we can keep moving our bodies. Use it or lose it!

We have a sky diver, an equestrian, mothers, hikers, some one in cardiac rehab, a Curves member, walkers and me sometimes the crawler other times gardener. We all keep moving!

We don't guilt each other. Who needs more of that? We encourage and celebrate here as we motivate ourselves and others to take care of the body.

So what can you do today?

Karen [hi]

Just stopping in to say hi and hoping we all have a good week. Like the intro Karen.

A friend is coming from out of state this afternoon. She usually does the grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning and driving while here.

So, my job right now is to continue to recover from last week and get strong enough so we can do a few things.

Monsoons expected today and tomorrow. I like them. they cool things down.

Thanks Karen for an other encouraging week.

Kam... This is wonderful that your friend is back in town. I do hope you recover. I read your post of the darkness you were having and my heart went out to you.

Me... just trying to get a bunch of errands run and keeping up on the house before I leave for Illinois to visit my parents.
can't stand to come home to a dirty house.
Will be gone for 11 days starting Thursday morning.

everyone, have a wonderful day.

friend is coming tomorrow instead.

she comes about once or twice a year.

she needs lots of down time too so it works out well. (of course i think she needs to see a LLMD but she doesn't)

i was able to finish getting the dishes out of the dishwasher this afternoon.

resting now and then hoping to put the dirty dishes in.

i think i am getting back to "lyme normal" First day I have been able to get regular doses of meds and supplements in me.

Today is a low energy day for me. I was woken up by Brewster last night at 3AM. His stomach was upset from the prednisone we gave him the night before for a sting reaction. So I am going down for a nap shortly.

Melissa, I hope that carpal tunnel calms down for you. I have read in the past the people with carpal tunnel should have their thyroid checked. I will see if I can find the article later. Just a thought.

Kayak, hope your trip back to NJ is safe and uneventful.

Aklnwlf, it is a big adjustment to work shifts. It always takes me about 3 weeks to adjust. Hope that your adjustment is quicker!

KAM, have fun with your company!

Popeye, keep up the good work!

Best,
Karen

Friend drove to the Verde River last night and I was able to hike around a bit, rest and then hike around a bit more.

She was able to go more places than I was so got to see a heron up the river.

We also got to see a beautiful sunset. She tried to take pics but it was amazing how quickly thing change with the earth is moving.

Hi all,

I'm going to try to start joining you. I used to be an avid exerciser (addict, even). Now it's the furthest thing from my mind. But, I see this as something necessary to get better, so, I'm happy to see you all keep this thread up, I think it will help me. And, I hope I can help some of you.

I work four days a week (desk job) and walk the distance between my home and office (1/8 mile) a total of 6 times most work days (am, pm & lunch).

I've also started pt, one day a week in the pool and every other day some isometric exercises. Did the pool on Tuesday and today is isometric day. I'm supposed to do two sets of 6 different exercises, but I'd be happy if I could get one (or half-of-one) done today.

Wish me luck.

GREENGIRL:

 -

Well.... you heard it here first. Had to see the dr today about my gut pain. He (&I) think I have another stone in my bile duct and/or pancreatitis.

If I have the latter, it is "mild"...yeah, right!!

Thankfully, I just received a call from the gastro's office and he can see me next week.

So... I didn't go to exercise Wednesday as planned. Hope to go tomorrow. I just ate real food tonight... so we'll see.

kayak... I thought maybe you just misspelled "moat" too.. hehehee!! Motel makes a whole lot more sense!!

Hope you get home soon.

Good to see everyone here.. didn't even open the thread until today since I was so bummed.

Morning all.

Didn't get the pt in yesterday, but got out for a nice walk with my husband along the river. Did my work walk this morning and planning to do PT tonight.

kayak, awful-sounding trip. I've always hated driving through CT.

Take it easy lymetoo. Hope it's not too painful.

Welcome, Greengirl! You are going to be one of our more advance members. Congratulations on what you are able to do!!

Lymetoo, pancreatitis is painful. I sure hope this passes quickly for you!

Oh yeah, coffee is my best friend Aklnwlf.

Kayak, glad you are back safe and sound. Hope the lost ground is regained quickly with the herbals back on board.

My plan is to weed the vegetable garden. Then replant my impatiens AGAIN (third time!). And work on supper. I am sure something else will crowd in there but that is my plan for today so far.

Have a good one, every one!

Actually KAM, I am being patient with Brewster. And apologizing to Miss Pris as I thought it was her who was doing the digging! I did not get the impatiens replanted yesterday so that is top on my list this morning.

Have a good Saturday everyone!

Able to walk down to Tonto Creek and sit in it a bit yesterday evening. Body was really weak and heart was really beating fast. Hot out.

Had to take several breaks. Strange this condition...sometimes I am able to walk to the creek like a regular person and then other times it was like yesterday. Very short walk but depends on how health is doing on whether it is an easy walk or a big walk.

kam, I find that, too. I have taken to understanding this phenomenon like all of the other symptoms -- they migrate. Maddening. But, now that I know that I cut myself some slack.

A walk to a street concert with the kids, yesterday. Some easy dancing with my daughter. First bit of true joy I've had in a very long time -- I'm sure the 10 hours of sleep and 3 hours of nap had something to do with that, too [Wink] .

Happy 4th.

GG...glad you had some moments of pure joy!

Able to walk to the swimming hole at the first creek crossing...although I had my swim suit on I did not get in the water..signs of pollution floating on top of water.

It was late in the evening and not really that hot out. If it had been hotter, I most likely would have gotten in order to survive the walk back out.

Est 5 min on feet, rest and then 5 min out.

Able to drive to grocery store this am and walk in and get the electric cart.

Hello all. Does anyone know of a good stretching DVD or something low impact like that? I tried Yoga but it leaves me so tired I am in bed for days to weeks. But I want to do something for my muscles because they feel better when they are stretched/used. If only I had the energy to do all the activites my mind wants to do such as roller blading, hiking, etc..Anyway, if anyone has any ideas of something like this please let me know. I appreciate it.

Suz...good question. You might want to cut and paste this on this week's thread for exercising.

I was thinking the same the other day. I know this topic has been discussed in the past.

I also know there is a guy on the local channel where I live doing some funny movements for the seniors here.

I have yet to be doing well enough to get on my feet and try what he is doing even for 5 min.

Most of the stuff I see on TV is too much for me to do yet.

Well, today when I woke up, my GI issues were better... Wed and Thurs was horrible... so I thanked God for the relief.

But.. my NECK has been killing me all day! I almost broke down and cried while at exercise.. Not from the exercise.. just because.

Just praying I'll be able to sleep. Planning on taking a few drugs! ( the legal kind [Wink] )

Oh.. and my ultrasound showed the pancreas and bile duct to be "unremarkable." Good news, bad news, I guess. Because the symptoms are still there.

The nurse tried to contact the dr to see where we go from here.. but he had left. So he is supposed to call me Monday. (we'll be on the road)

And... I have a cyst in my kidney. When the ultrasound tech had the wand on it, it hurt and I asked her "where are you now?" She said, your kidney.. did that hurt? I said YEAH.

They said in the report that they felt it was benign. Gotta remember to ask the dr about that too.

So.. I'm toast over here. Wondering which will be the worst pain tomorrow. <sigh>

----managed to do about 2/3 of my exercises----
