Folks, I apologize if this is not the exact forum to discuss the impending sale of Plum Island. Under the acivism forum I posted a longer discussion. Please suffice it to say that according to an excellent and thoroughly researched book, called Lab 51 (perhaps) written by an attorney, you and I are most likely suffering from Lyme because of the military research done on Plum Island.

I just saw an internet news article that the government is interesting in selling Plum Island to developers. Not one mention is made of the lyme research, the hurricane that destroyed the lab most likely spreading lyme, and the subsequent sickening of the populations of Old Lyme and Lyme, Conneceticut (sp?) just a few years after the hurricane. These towns are located across the sound from Plum Island.

I don't think the government should get away with keeping the information silent about their lyme research and the consequent sickening of the American population. They sickened us once and should not get away with it again.

By forcing the news out, might shine light on the true cause of the controversy, the government trying to shield itself from responsibility and liability for spreading lyme even if it was inadvertent.

Just noticed that Jesse Ventura did a piece on Plum Island. Liked his style. But the book by the lawyer author, Lab 51? (that might be a chapter name) really details the connection between Plum Island and Lyme Disease. Very convincing evidence that Plum Island working on developing the transmission of Lyme Disease by ticks and a hurricane blew apart the lab releasing the ticks....and within a few seasons the towns across from Plum Island, specifically Lyme and Old Lyme Connecticut are infected with Lyme Disease.
