Are ticks seasonal? I live in Missouri and my kids have been invited to a "farm" out in the middle of now where, where ticks are sure to be found. Curious if ticks are just during certain seasons, or around all the time?
Thank you.

We live just south of you and have pulled ticks off ourselves and our pets in Nov. I have even found them on the cat in Jan.
I don't know if you are far enough north of us that it wouldn't be a problem.
You might want to take precautions, use spray etc just to be sure.
Good luck.

We have found many ticks in November in Minnesota, especially when we don't get snow cover.

They are present year round, and you don't need to be out in the woods for them to get you.
The one that got me, an unattached brown dog tick, got me in bed at night. It was the only tick I ever saw anywhere near where I lived.

- I've seen photos of ticks walking on icy snow, out hunting (questing). -

yup and please stop the notion of them being found mainly in the woods. i picked up my lil jerk in a fairy urban place with the closest thing to being woods was at least a half mile away, and im not talking dense woods either, more like a small patch of trees and bushes.

Do you have that photo? I need to show that to a bunch of people!
Or was that a joke?
I remember when I was a kid, my favorite thing to do in the fall with my sisters, was to rake the leaves and make a pretend leaf house. We played all day in bunches of leaves.
YIKES!

Thanks Nellers. It is my favorite verse. I have gone there over and over again through our struggle.
It helps me.

I don't believe Keebler is joking!!!
As far as leaves go> I have actually stopped my car and warned parents the dangers of playing in leaves. I ``really'' believe, it's the easiest way to get lyme and other diseases.
