Hi All

Please dont move this for a day or so --

I started using Skype phone 3 days ago--
Already saved me $30 at least --

You can talk to ANYONE that has computer
cell phone -Land line-- Anywhere in the world -

Computer to computer is FREE anywhere in the world but might cost 2 cents a minute or so-

Your computer to land line or cell phone
costs ONE CENT or so per minute --

Skype Also has VIDEO with the phone
so you can SEE the other person and they
can see You too--

you have to have Web cam with a Mic --
Maybe as cheap as $25

You can also use a cell phone head set -
if it will plug in to your Audio on your computer-

Here is a example of what you can do with it--

My sons washing machine broke and
he was not sure where to take it apart--

so he picked up his laptop that has a built in
web cam and showed me the back of the washer--
so I could tell him its those 4 screws
on the left --

Heres another example -

It can take PAGES of Words to describe a skin rash accurately--

Now you can show them with LIVE Video and audio --

The video and audio are INSTANT --
No delay at all and audio is better than
with my cell phone --

the video quality is AWESOME --

Clearer that YouTube -

Skype is FREE down load -- Jay--

Can I also call any landlines of people who have no computer?
I mean not friends but all the necessary calls
to offices,stores, pharmacies ...

I always was told that this is not possible and you only can use skype with people who have a computer.

It's still on medical all day, I didn't delete it from there, just closed it. It REALLY doesn't belong in medical. We're just talking about a phone here .... it's not like the suicide watch we had last week, which was in general and got plenty of responses.

Yes, skype is wonderful! It has been huge for me and my husband when one of us had to travel (before I was very ill) -- a way for us to be in contact, face-to-face.

And yes, you can call landlines or cell phones...it just has a small fee per minute -- much cheaper than usual phone lines.

Actually, one time we were staying at a place for a month that had internet service, but no phone. We just used skype for everything -- called friends, restaurants, businesses, etc.

Also, you can set it up to do "conference" calls -- with multiple people together on one call. This can be wonderful.

I haven't used it in awhile, as I don't talk on the phone much anymore, but when I did we loved skype.
