What the heck is this Re-Direct to "Lyme WebRing" going on tonight??! If you don't click on the 'Flash Disscussion' link fast enough, it sends you over to this other website... with the back button "blanked out" (so you can't go "back" to Lymenet!)
Has someone planted a virus on the Lymenet(dot)org Homepage? Sure looks like it!

That's happened to me a number of times in the past few weeks. I just have to go elsewhere till it resolves itself. I can't figure it out either.

It's been happening to me too in the last few weeks and knocks lymenet completely out. I have to go back to my homepage and start all over again.
Doesn't sound good. I am going to report this under the report post to see if the webmaster might have any idea as to why this is happening. Thanks for posting this,
Gael

It's your computers, not the website. I've talked to the webmaster about it. If you clear your cache (I have a Mac, it's clearing your history, temporary files, cookies, etc. on a pc) it should fix the problem. You will have to sign in again though.

Hmmm... well I highly doubt it's my computer. I do keep (some) cookies, so I can see my Yahoo mail right away, for example (w/o signing in). But my cache is set to clear out everytime I sign off (advanced option box).
It's not happening this morning at all. (the "redirect", that is.) Hoo-ray! Last night was the 1st & only time ... & it was relentless.
I'll keep ya posted, & as a computer geek I know. (He's a wiz at Internet setups & protocol.)

I've had this happen also. Last night and three other times over the past week. I tried clearing out and logging in again and it didn't help. I waited an hour and then was able to get to LymeNet.

How can so many people's computers be doing the same thing, redirecting them to the same site? That's impossible. It can't be their computers. Maybe the webmaster can take another look?

Tracy, the webmaster has been unable to duplicate it. I've never had it happen to me either. I'm thinking some kind of virus (not sure if that's what you'd call it) that redirects to their site instead of ours. That's why I would *think* that clearing the cache or internet history would fix it.
I don't think it's accidental or coincidental, I think it's coming from Lyme Webring, not us. That site is a commercial site.

Keeps happening. Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this problem?
If it's coming from Lyme Webring, wouldn't they have had to somehow attacked Lymenet in order for it to get switched over to their site.
It only happens when I am on Lymenet, so that would make sense to me.

Six,
I am worried that it will affect/infect our computers. Wonder what can be done about it?
Would the webmaster know how to get them off lymenets back so to speak?

I think the problem might be an inter-net traffic control issue. The Lymenet webmaster should discuss it with the host website provider folks. Of course, if Lymenet owns & operates it's own servers....
Lymetoo- You might have the best idea for now; One's browser should be set to open right to 'Medical Questions', or atleast the 'Flash Discussions' page:
(That seemed to bypass the redirect on this end, though I haven't had any problems with the homepage for a few days now.)

Yep, I agree with Lymetoo and Kete, having it set on favorites to open straight to flash discussions is a good idea. It's what I have done so it's never a problem for me.

Just happened to me again. And I have favorites set to open to flash discussions.

It's baaaack! 'Lyme Disease Webring". Looks so official. Ha!
Of course, if you're quick on the draw... and can click on 'Flash Discussion' before you're re-directed... all is well.
